    Pretty much. Cortese wanted someone who could instill a positive environment and buy into his vision for the club. Adkins certainly did. Pardew was brought in because we needed someone quickly to replace the useless Dutch bloke and I don't think a whole lot of research was done. Pardew obviously had his own ideas, many of which Cortese didn't share, as would the more experienced managers we could have hired. Pardew did pretty well, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Still, we've done well and he's done welll since.
