You can take Brown off there, as it stands we need him to sign an "extremely reduced" contract in order for him to be a Leeds United player next season.

The latest on Ward is that Pearce is now saying he's been conned. Pearce was sold a promotion winning team by Warnock. He told Pearce that we are going to build a promotion winning team in short time. A deal for his best mate is agreed, but Bates/harvey try and haggle and spread the payments. Pompy are having none of it as they need the cash and think Leeds are getting Ward on the cheap. Ward arrives in Leeds and visits TA and loves it especially has he has his best mate at the club. The deal starts to unravel because Bates says he has no money. Ward is upset and has wasted a week waiting for Leeds to do the deal. Ward sick of being slated in the media for messing Leeds, Ipswich, Palace and Blackpool around, when he had chosen Leeds and was waiting for them to get it done. Warnock and Harvey nearly come to Blows. Warnock may not be back after his holidays unless he gets financial backing

I did read in Tuesday's Daily Mail that we're interviewing Paddy Kenny next week. Not exactly a signing to placate the fans, and as Colin's away it'll be Harvey doing the interview, so that'll fall through. Lonergan's better anyway, why think of bringing Kenny in I dont know.

I miss chanting "you fat bast*** " at him. Plus I doubt I will stop even if he is in a Leeds shirt.

    Bucks :emoticon-0149-no:

Dont think I could get this depressed again after last summer, but after being full of optimism when Warnock was brought in, and the way he culled the dross promising the fans a team of his will challenge next season. Then this debacle as we can't find £400k. We have 8 players retained after we end up losing Snodds, White and Rosco. Its a disgrace and I can only see Warnock binning it because he's been left with egg on his face.

Bates isn't going to back him because he prefers spending our money on white elephant redevelopments. he's forward sold the season tickets as well to do it and it will only earn revenue in the premiership not in this league. The club seems to be getting ready for liquidation under Bates, and I wonder if pearce has any recourse for miss selling, because it looks like he's upset and buying into something that was never there

I feel the same. Hacked off with Bates but theres nothing new there. Now I am hacked off with myself for falling for his spin. I thought it would be different as well. All the noises coming from ER was positive & I dread to think what will happen if we get Derby on the first game of the season (again) and Warnock is still here. Remember he said to cloughy enjoy it coz you wont see a side as poor as this under Neil Warnock again? I bet Clough remembers it <yikes>

Even if we are broke Bates should be a man of his word and back warnock out of his own pocket (heavens forbid!!)

Yeah, I will get my coat.

Kenny to Leeds? Sounds like lazy journalism to me. Why would we want him, & would he accept being No. 2 to Lonners?

This situation is big news on most clubs boards now and every cnut is laughing at us. here's the West Ham post:

Leeds United Manager Warnock On The Point Of Leaving
Calm down, calm down, he's off on holiday - for now! But how long he remains after he jets back in is anybody's guess.

Captain Snakeinthegrass has already suggested that the 63 year old seven times promoted infected bladder may not be around for long, and battle lines are being drawn between him and Master Bates already.

Things are not as Warnock was led to believe, it appears. He was expecting three new signings before he packed his bags and trumpety trumpeted off on his hols. But thus far, three signings have become one, with money for transfer fees and wages not forthcoming from Bates and his tight arse licking board. With eleven plus players threatened with the chop and three first choice players looking to move on, the hoped for promotion bid could turn into a relegation struggle. And if that happens, Warnock could be looking for the door before Bates tries to show him it!

Even the 'outsiders' are seeing whats happening. Why oh why does it feel like we are about to drop into Admin? I think we are a long way from that, but the sinking feeling in my stomach reminds me of that time. Its yet another low for the club when we should be an established championship club looking at kicking on for promotion (this will be our 3rd season back afterall)

maybe its time Bates sold Radio Bates because it makes a loss every year and is a drain on the clubs finances. Nobody listens to it so shut it down and sell it.

Oh no we can't can we, because its just another subsidiary company that bates uses to move money around, to cloud the financials.

Not going to be long now before the media get involved in this debacle. Every TV pundit reckons Leeds will be up there as they have the clout. They are the best supported in the league, and attract a lot of tv airtime and are one of the only clubs making a profit. Thats the perception outside looking in. They are not going to believe that we can't afford to buy players and will want to know what bates is doing with all the cash brought in from transfers going back to Delph, Garbutt, the 2 kids to Man City, The Milner sell on fee, Gradel and Howson. Can't wait to see the headlines (We've been asking the same question for years)

    Wheres the money gone Ken??

Why would Warnock sell snoddy and ross if he knows he wont get the money to reinvest? If i was him id keep them both, try to get promoted (unlikely yes) and then let them walk if we didnt go up. Not like itl hurt warnock to see them go for nowt

Why would Warnock still be here at Christmas if he has already decided that we can't get promoted?

His only reason for being here is to get promotion, so he would have walked if he had decided the chance was over.

And that is where Snoddy gets back to his question over whether Warnock would have the chance to make the decision about letting him go (or proactively working on getting him a Prem contract).

It's all just words and smokescreens.

The most interesting bit is that this year could be Bates's last.

If the optimists are starting to worry, if Pearce feels he has been sold a dud, if the players all walk away as well as the manager, if the fans don't turn up, if the season ticket holders all get disgruntled, if LUST gets a few more members, if the club runs out of cashflow.

Bates and Harvey will have to swan off, we will have to be sold or a creditor will put us into administration, and KPMG won't make the same mistake as last time.

Doc, Yorkshire Radio is about more than just moving money around (although that's obviously a useful side-effect). It's all about information control and propaganda, and he knows that a small loss of a couple of hundred thousand every year (on average) justifies that for him, along with the added pleasure of giving a kicking to those dissidents at BBC Leeds by keeping them away from commentary rights.

When he said on YR that "if you want to read about what’s going on, don’t listen to the clap-trap or the tweets and the twots, watch Leeds United’s websites, listen to Yorkshire Radio and LUTV… and buy the programme," that just put his sinister thinking into unequivocal public record.

If he could abolish forums like this one, he would. He truly runs Leeds United like a fascist dictatorship, and only state-controlled media are allowed - any freedom of thought and expression is undesirable. Pay your Bates Tax, love your leader and love your state. Yorkshire Radio truly is an evil institution. :(
