We have to trust Warnock. He is not going anywhere, up for the fight at Leeds. This is a club he has always wanted to be at, and he ain't walking. Colin is very shrewd, and he's twisting the knife a bit to simply try and get more money out of Bates. No doubt offers have been made to a few players and now it is down to how greedy they are. One thing the Championship has taught us is that highly paid players are not necessarily brilliant players.

Warnock has said he needs to sign players who will be able to cope playing at Elland Road, and who want to become legends at Leeds. Well, if they really need to think about it **** them. Pearce jumped at the chance to come because he holds Leeds in high regard and wants to be a star at Elland Road. Good lad!! That's the player we want, the kind who can't wait to pull on the famous White shirt.

Look, I am sure Pearce will be talking to Ward, and I'm sure Ward wants to come to Leeds, it's probably just a question of how the fee is structured. Bates will no doubt want something like £100k up front and the balance paid over three seasons, Pompey want £400k up front and probably a sell-on clause as well. If Ward was going elsewhere the deal would have been done by now. Pompey may well have put a deadline on reaching an agreement with Leeds, and Ipswich would have been alerted.

Pompey would be crazy not to tout one of their most saleable assets around to try and get much needed money in. It's a dangerous game to stall the way Bates has done, but I still believe Ward is keen on Leeds until such time as the clubs announce the deal is off. Warnock has clearly told the club to get a move on and he will continue to push Bates and Harvey. They will know exactly who Colin wants, and exactly what it will take financially to do the deals.

Transfers have so many little nuances, and any little thing can scupper a deal. The missus likes meeting her mates three days a week in Harrods for lunch, the agent wants to squueze as much as he can for himself, the selling club want a player thrown in for free as part of the deal...all sorts going on.

I trust Warnock, he knows what he's doing and he can definitely get us promoted. It's still only May, and for all we know deals are agreed and its just paperwork that needs doing. I am really interested to see the new Leeds under Warnock, and I bet we are going to scare a lot of teams who will hate playing against Warnock's Warriors.

Sorry mate you are living in a dream world if you think any player wants to join us because we are Leeds Utd - Those days have long gone, I do trust Warnock 100% and I also trust he is not going to be made a fool and have a blot on his CV of possible relegation. We have seen what happens when you have no money and can only offer **** wages, Grayson lived under those terms and no matter how good Warnock is without financial backing his magic isn't going to work. Warnock is a great manager at this level and he has a far worse record with us than Grayson, he can't mould the shambles we have together. Forget Ward for a moment, what about the other 2-3 targets he wanted here by now, where are they??

Have you actually listened to Warnock? He sounds like a beaten man. He knows things are going wrong just as much as we do.

I wouldn't necessarily say he sounds like a beaten man. Definitely sounds like he's acknowledged the fact that the job really is a big one, but I think he still sounds up for it. If he really was beaten he'd quit now and keep his integrity and record in tact.

He will take his holiday, enjoy himself with his family, return to Elland Road and if nothing has materialised and he finds excuse after excuse from Bates of "this player wanted too much" and "although we received £2 million for McCormack it isn't all up front so I can't give you much of it" then I expect him to quit. June is going to be an edgy month for Leeds fans I feel.

We need Warnock more than he needs us thats for sure.

Hes been lied to like we have all been lied to for years. Even Snod has said the clubs lied to him for a few seasons so why do the minority (it is a minorty now in my eyes) still believe Bates?

Look, I am sure Pearce will be talking to Ward, and I'm sure Ward wants to come to Leeds, it's probably just a question of how the fee is structured. Bates will no doubt want something like £100k up front and the balance paid over three seasons, Pompey want £400k up front and probably a sell-on clause as well.

This is going to be a problem. Warnock would have met with Pearce & sold him the whole we are going for promotion & we will bring your mate in as well etc etc & suddenly Bates has made Warnock out to be a bare faced liar. No doubt the two are talking & everyone connected with the club knows how admin works, its money up front. Thats the whole reason we signed Pearce whilst the season was still ongoing (play offs) because the league gave Pompey permission. Ward will go to the highest bidder. It wont be a personal decision, it wont be a footballing one, it will be in the hands of the admin. If we dont cough up 400k then Pearce would have been fed a pack of lies as well, which ever way you look at it.

Love the believe you have though, Bates has all but beat that out of me <ok>

That is such an important point, Ristac. I think we're all ball watching at the moment, so to speak.

Unreal the constant ****ing negativity on this board. It's almost as if some of you want Leeds to fail. Warnock will be here at the start of the season, he will get Leeds playing and we'll be pushing for promotion. Gosh, some of you really are rays of sunshine, thank goodness I don't live or work with you. Some comments are really ****ing stupid and negative, no thought gone into them except to ****ing moan. Get a life!! Thank **** Bates is running the club rather than you, we'd be buying our souvenir bricks by now as Elland Road is torn down after you moaned the club into oblivion. This Leeds board is becoming a poisonous ****ing place to visit, and only the Millwall boys posts are fun to read anymore.

"Warnock staying" - great opinion, but still only an opinion.

But it is surely not the role of someone with that opinion to deride and abuse people with an opposite opinion, is it?

Some should chill a little and accept others have opinions <ok>

I was optimistic when we signed Pearce, I am not walking around with my ears covered and eyes blindfolded as to what is going on at Leeds... You only have to listen to what Warnock is saying, the words coming out of his own mouth along with Snoddy's comments to see all is not well.

Morning gentlemen. There's a tread doing the rounds that suggests we can't afford £450k for Ward. Its either right or misinformed. If it's right & for that reason, Ward doesn't come, the brown stuff will hit the wirly wheel & Warnock along with our crown jewels will leave.

If, however, it's all based on press speculation & either Ward has changed his mind about coming or was never actually in Warnock's list of targets, that's a different story. Until Warnock returns from his hols, I think we're in for a tense time. But the mood music is currently not good..... & that's from someone whose cup is almost always at least half full.

Good point Boggers. The thing is, until I actually see Warnock on Sky saying he is unhappy, he wants to leave, Harvey ****ed up the Ward deal...sorry, but I think it's pointless to speculate downwards. It is so ****ing soul destroying to think negatively and constantly bash the club. Look, everyone got caught cold when Leeds signed Pearce, and that was a great move. Now its a bit different with other clubs just as actively chasing targets. We all know Jewell is a cynical knob and hardly ever has anything good or positive to say (he should write on this board) and he will say anything to the press to upset a rival. I would rather we discuss the team we have and how we will cope this coming season. I ****ing hate Bates and I am protesting in my own way by not renewing my Club Membership, LUTV, Programme Subs and not going to games or buying shirts etc UNTIL I see some positive signs that the club is serious about winning on the pitch. However, I am not going to come on here every day and whine like a stuck ****ing record about "ooh look how bad Bates is not supporting Colin...oooh Harvey is a knob....oooh the tight crook won't fund the Ward deal...oooh Warnock is resigning". We actually know **** all about what's happening except that Warnock clearly wants Bates to go beyond his budget and sign the manager's targets. Into this I read that collectively the four or five players Warnock wants are asking for more than was set aside to get them, and so Bates may well have given Colin a compromise of "pick three and we'll sign them" and the manager is going "no, I want all of them please." As for players like White, McCormack and Clayton, they have clearly been poorly advised by their agents and no doubt been convinced they are better than they actually are, and so they are holding out for more than they're worth. The one thing I do agree with Bates on (heaven help me) is that too many ordinary players are being paid too much money, especially after they have one half decent season. We are Leeds, and we MARCH ON TOGETHER!!!

So what shall we talk about? The inpending signing of Beckford, or Bamba maybe? Or are we going to sign Rhodes for Hudders or maybe swoop for Lambert from Saints?

Everyone that has a passion for the club is ****ed off with the way its going under Bates. Not just on this forum, every forum & everyone I talk to in the street.

If you want to live in a fantasy world where everything is rosey & Warnock is some kind of promotion fairy thats fine by me, but dont slag off others for clearly seeing whats going on and debating it.

I welcome your views & I enjoy reading the positives, kinda adds a bit of balance to the board but come on man, if this carrys on we wont be playing 2nd tier football for very long & not in a good way!

Dont take this as a personal cheap shot, because I am above that & have no issues with you what so ever <ok>

    Bucks <cheers>

I think the question you should all be asking is if you can't afford £450k for Ward, who exactly CAN you afford?
Also if Snodgrass, McCormack, Clayton, White et al were to get sold what percentage of the fees received will be made available to Warnock?
