Morning Josh Yor views are welcome mate, in fact I enjoy the optimist in you! I however, think we are getting screwed over more than we even realise so I guess that makes me a pessimist. Kiwis got it right I suppose we will have to wait and see, but looking at the statements that have been made, the advances on ST sales the fact we cant tie up ward for 400k coupled with Bates saying the exact opposite about transfer targets (he wants them in late to save on the wage bill, Warnock wants them in to start rebuilding) It all looks like its going to come to a head soon. The balls in Bates court now. And that is the real worry
Morning Josh. As a fellow optimist, I share your comment. It's just that with it being the off season & with us being Leeds United, even if we acquired Messi & were told he's playing for beer & pies, someone would still moan & complain that he won't be the same player he was at Barca or that Yorkshire pies & Sam Smith's beer would never be able to cope with increased production for the replica beer & pie sales. Being so negative all the time with the odd foolish optimists like you, me, & one or two others is part of the fabric that binds us all together. Remember in Colin we trust. MOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Neil Warnock I trust without a doubt. Its Bates that holds all the cards though, and more fool anyone who trusts that man. Just have a look on Wikki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Bates of his past history & tell me you would put your business in his hands? We havent got the money for Ward so how the hell are we going to sign anyone else? Its 400k FFS & Warnock was expecting funds for a rebuild! I wonder how Pearce feels about it all, no doubt he was sold a vision for the future & was expecting his mate to link up with him. Not going to happen I'm affraid. See ya Snod, see ya White, See ya Rosco & Clayton if anyone will take you (thats got to sting a bit for Clayts as he loves the club) Welcome the freebies, past it & gambles to come through the door to help us survive this season. Promotion? No chance. Now bloody prove me wrong Bates FOR THE SAKE OF OUR CLUB!!! (sorry for being so depressing everyone I will try and snap out of it, but sometimes you got to face what is staring you in the eyes)
The most optimistic way I can look at it is I never rated White and I'm not fussed about Clayton! ...then I remember it's not like we'll bring in anyone better with Bates in charge and I'm sad again
I thought we'd agreed a fee with the Portsmouth administrators for Ward, but he was just considering his options.
dont think we can afford him pal I think the delay is he wants to come & Pearce was promised his mate would join, Warnock thought it would be a done deal but its a cashflow problem. If you look at the warning signs regarding funds its all there to see. No one will lend Bates money due to his past record so hes required the money himself by taking money out of season ticket sales to fund the redevolpment of the east stand. Look at the books. Although I think they have been cooked & he has pushed money offshore its painfully obvious its not there anymore. Warnocks know saying we will have to wait and see if he gets backed. Changed his tune hasnt he? Who have we actually got on the books at the moment? Lonegran- Solid, went down hill as the season went on BUT our deffence was poor Connolly- not wanted. Can do a job but adverage at best Pugh- 500k? FFS! Can play anywhere though, but shouldnt be anywhere near first team Lees- Theres hope. Kisnorbo- Injured & past it, more interested in pulling people over. Loved Kissa but sadly think hes 'doing a Naylor' Brown- Will he work for peanuts? Has he got the legs for another season? Pearce-Solid signing Got me excited that we turned a corner Paynter- Becchio- Will improve under warnock, gets the job done Turner- To young to rely on, pleased for the kid hope he has a bright future Turner as above Somma-Hope he comes back raring to go & gets a chance up tops with another striker, he cant play the lone man And the Bookies have us down as a favouirte for promo? Bloody hell, they must believe Bates spin as well.
Millwall 66/1 yet Charlton are 20/1 and Leeds only 16/1 Think I might go for an odds-compiling job as these clowns know ferk all
Or maybe you just don't realise Millwall will be struggling to stay in this league next season More to the point, its more about how many people put bets on rather than whats likely to happen
At this minute in time (and after last years **** season) I would be more inclined to put money on us getting relegated than promoted
The perfect song for Leeds United, play it LOUD!
When bates sacked Grayson I believe he looked at our position in the league, the majority of fans knew we were batting above our station but Bates didn't and Bates foolishly thought Warnock would get more out of the players and win promotion with what we already had. Warnock comes in, decides he can't make some of the **** we have any better so needs to splash some cash. Bates wants to see sales before spending, nobody is going to buy Connolly, Paynter, O'Brien, Nunez and Bruce so we have a cash flow problem. Bates also commented about an extended pre season due to Olympics which means less activity until the end of July, he is looking at it as a penny pinching excercise - 5 players 8k a week, June+July 8 weeks a total of £320,000 in wages, what he is failing to realise is the value for money we can get with the likes of Pearce and Ward. Looking at it now I am amazed we managed to stump up the cash for Pearce. Bottom line is Bates will never spend the money on the team and wages, he see's income from VIP boxes, functions, hospitality and the hotel, he hasn't learned a thing in all his years apart from one thing, how to milk money out of a business to live a luxury lifestyle. What has Bates got to his name business wise? he lives a life of luxury on the back of shady deals and scams, he hasn't anything real to his name like Richard Branson or Alan Sugar you have to ask where does he make his money? From bleeding dry, scamming and his crooked ways over clubs like Leeds. I feel as fed up about it all as when we were in Div 1 at the moment, just can't see an end to the misery, I support and trust Warnock 100% but he needs backing, if he doesn't manage it we shall be in need of a new manager pretty shortly and I won't give a toss who it is, I really won't because no matter who it is we will do well to beat relegation with the current squad, no money and White, Snodgrass and Clayton on their way.
they've got a poll on sky sports transfer clockwatch of whether Snoddy will be a leeds player next season - currently - Yes 29% No 71%
Its a shame but your spot on. Midfield is a glaring example L1 Gradel Howson Johnson Snod Champ ?? Brown(if he resigns) Pugh/thompson ?? If people cant see we are going backwards at an alarming rate then I am amazed.
Think that shows the majoirty of Leeds fans can see whats happening. Two captains in a year. We scream ambition dont we?
