A few journalists have reported that we've gone off AVB now. Normally wouldn't believe it but the same info was reported by a pretty reliable source. Echo has reported it as well. In other news, Villa are stepping up their chase to get Martinez in.
oh well, if they want to be cheapskates then FSG can expect a cheapskate finish in the table. I like martinez but had Wigan gone down, which they were inches away from, he wouldn't even have been considered. These guys are starting to annoy me now, all talk and no real action.
What talk? they are doing it behind closed doors, its a paper ****e and guess work.. They are doing things the way we protested and shouted for.. its being like a week since KK was sacked... Take a chill of pill... DR.
not all paper talk, you forget that whilst we have a closed-door policy managers' agents still talk to the press and stir things up
its all smoke and mirrors, and TBH is you are right then even still FSG are doing it right on the half... Agents are another thing.
if FSG are now responsible for agents of managers who may or may not have ever been approached.... well i think you're going too far. For me FSG had zero right to go approach formally wigan to talk to their manager unless they had an actual plan in mind. Dave whelan is an unapologetic utd lickhole and took great pleasure in running to the press. that's the error FSG need to see they made... especially if they sacked a trophy winning manager for martinez.
Nobody knows for sure, I said last week I felt it would be AVB and I still do! The stumbling block to any appointment of any worth though is surely the reported 30mil transfer kitty; if they really are demanding a top four finish and expect to get that with that budget they are dreaming, possible yes, likely NO! Once again I still think the man is Rafa as he knows the players and would probably have to overhaul the squad the least.
IMO Ayre stated clearly the next couple of weeks and this si the middle of the first week. I fully expect at least one appointment made to the myriad openings by end of next week.. If not i'll start judging them then.
I just feel each week without a manager or any management with knowledge of the game is a week lost on getting ahead of our rivals with wooing new signings. The name "Liverpool" alone doesn't get them flocking to us any more and we have to work hard to get our targets before they are ruled out
If Rafa is overlooked in favour of Martinez, for example, it will be the biggest mistake FSG have made since sacking Kenny- Rafa's record speaks volumes with the benefit of hindsight.
How could anyone expect an immediate appointment, unless it was already lined up? I, for one, would much rather they took their time to do it properly than just go for the first name that crops up. It's quite clear from the talk on here and elsewhere that, whoever they choose, some factions will be dissatisfied. We can't say they're all talk and no action, because the talk is not theirs-it's the papers', and we have little idea if and what action is going on.
I was referring to the stadium and the "we want to win the title" attitude, (well we won't win much with £23m net spend and 30m this summer)
I'd rather they took a little bit of time to get the right person than rush and ended up sacking them by Christmas.
As long as everyone realizes this summer transfer window is a complete bust anyway... there is no scouting plan cos they sacked the guy in charge. do not expect great signings no matter who comes in.. don't be disappointed.
Fair enough. But still we can't pre-judge. The most important thing now is to get a good management structure into place and take it from there.
That's the thing though, they've been here for a year and a half, the time for "pre-judging" should be over, we should be judging what they've ACTUALLY done up to this point, which is not very much at all.
my point on that would be there can be no excuses from here on in. I think one could say they appointed comolli to do a job, they had to sack hodgson and turned to kenny. I am not sure they wanted kenny but bowed to the fans desire. At this point every single decision taken is theirs and theirs alone, unforced. They decided to sack a legend and they will be judged on what they appoint.. they will be judged on the staff they put in around the club and will be firmly judged on their results.
The bookies seem to agree AVB is drifting, and Martinez is now the strong favourite with Louis van Gaal and Brendan Rodgers odds also getting cut quite strongly http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/liverpool-specials/next-permanent-manager
