i agree 'forced' is the wrong word but the point is the club could only have met these players wage demands through the use of the EBT - it would have cost Rangers more than they could have afforded if they were paid any other way (just add 40% income tax)
I'd say that, if someone promised me and my agent a signing on fee, then said that I couldn't have it without taking it via an offshore trust, then they are FORCING me to take it that way. Otherwise, I'm not getting what I was promised. So, to sum up, you guys now think that players should be prepared to not accept money promised to them. <backawaytoenjoythebackdoor>
I see Medro's in full deflection mode again, just like him, Nev, EDGE et al. were after last years expose on Craig WHyte. "Craig Whyte is innocent and he has my full support!" The mutants never learn
You obviously never saw the thread last year after the first doc. Nev went from Whyte hater to "I'll fight any **** who has a bad word to say about him" in the space of one day.
If you're offered a job you're always free to turn it down if you don't like the terms and conditions. Or are you claiming that the payment method was changed after the contracts were signed? If so, Rangers would have been in breach of contract and players would have been free to walk. Either way, no one was FORCED to accept EBTs.
Payment methods aren't necessarily in your contract. Basically, you're saying that, if he wanted to play for Rangers, he should've taken no signing on fee? I'm assuming he had already knocked back any other offers before signing and knocking back Rangers after signing for them would be a big deal. He was told that, if he wanted it, it had to be through an EBT. If I owe you £100, but insist that you take it in single pennies, am I forcing you to have loads of smash? After all, you could just refuse it...
But they didn't owe him any money at that stage. He was made an offer which he didn't have to accept.
Bibs backdoor shenanigans can't be up to much if he's got to keep coming back on here to argue with interweb nobodies <BUCKLEDBACKDOOR>
They've been caught with their skid marked purple and cream y-fronts round their ankles and you have bozos on here who just won't accept it. Deal with it, your club has been cheating it's way to success. Rangers will still be in the SPL though, of that I'm sure.
