35 million to spend this summer

Since the sale of young judas there has been a lot of articles about how we are going to spend the 35 million that we got from him. I would just like to point out that unless pardew has additional funds given to him we cannot afford to buy 35 million worth of players.

Some people have suggested that we buy five 7 million pound players, but the truth is that we will not be able to afford these players wages unless more money is found.

Wages are a clubs major output, if we bought 5 players with £50 000 wages then we would spend £13 000 000 a year paying there wages.

So unless we sell players or fat mike dips in his pocket we will not be able to afford as many players as some people are hoping for!

 

You'd not get 5 players that are worth 50k a week from 35 million mate.

I'd say 3 players for about 8-12m on 40/50k a week.

Samba - 50k a week
Gervinho - 50k a week
Sturridge - 40/50k a week

Jarvis - 30k a week
Ba - 30k a week

 

Thats still just over £10 000 000 a year on wages

 

Don't think we'll be spending 35mil either.

Samba, Gervinho, Ba/Sow, then cheap/unknown players for squad depth

 

Don't you get half a million pound a point in the PL?

Anyway, those players could earn us more than 10m quids worth of success.

Buy 3 quality players if possible then cheap/versatile/unknown players for squad depth. Those 3 quality players could be Ba/Sow/Gamiero, Samba, Gervinho or Vargas.

heard mackems are after Gameiro... wouldn't be happy! Gervinho, Samba, then one of Ba/Sow/Gameiro and I'll be bloody happy with that. Just the signings we need to perfect our squad.

 

Dont forget there will likely be outgoing players aswell, so the wage bill will reduced. If we can get rid of Smith, then theres around 50k per week saved.
