Regarding the stadium they have made as much progress as H&G.
Zero has changed after 19mths. Their very first comment on it said they would be looking at both new and refurb. This statement says exactly the same as have several in between. At the very least they should have decided which way to go by now. Once that is decided they can then put all their efforts in to achieving that rather than bland repetitive statements every 6 months to pacify the growing discontent.
Overall I am extremely disappointed with the ownership so far in virtually every aspect.

to pistelero... If the club had offered said resisdents double what their property was worth back i nthe 90s everyone would have been a winner....

In the end yes they are peoples homes but if you were offered the alternative of buying a nice house or continue living in a stadiums shadow and having 45,000 people mill about every second weekend and midweek nights I think i know the answer.

My point is manchester utd built thier mish mash stadium up to 76k in the 90s while we pissed about on a minor anfield road end. The centenary stand was the sole proper attempt in my view at a proper modern stand..... AND THAT built over the top of the existing stand!

I'm willing to bet good cash you could get more than 65k into anfield if you did it right.... in 20 years time the 300mil may just look chicken feed as well.

Whilst I think you underestimate peoples will power when it comes to moving out of their homes I absolutely agree with your sentiments regarding the madness of not developing Anfield to bigger capacity 20 years ago.

Here's a rough calculation for you...(initially done on a drunken night on the back of a beer mat a few years back <laugh>)

Had we developed Anfield to say 55000 twenty years ago and presuming an average spend of £50 per fan per home game we get:

An extra 10 000 fans per home game = £500 000 extra per home game

Lets say we play an average of 25 home games a season = £12.5 mill extra per season

Had we done that 20 years ago that's an extra £250 million quids matchday revenue we've missed out on and granted that is spread over two decades but still it can't be sniffed at <ok>

I appreciate 20 years ago the average spend per fan wouldn't have been that high but it may well be a fair bit higher these days so I use that as a rough estimate only. Feel free to quibble with my calculations but it's just to illustrate a point. We would have comfortably paid the cost of those developments off years ago and had more money to invest in the squads.

We could all buy a lego set and pitch together to build the stadium.

I think if we do a new stadium it has to be at least 70 if not just revamp Anfield somehow.

I think you should build up just two sides of the stadium, make them HUGE and leave the others as they are.

    :p

I dont see how you can believe they have moved no further than H&G when they have spoken to Anfield residence, Spoken to potential sponsors and spoken to the council etc.

True....but that's stuff that could have been done in the space of a few months. Has that really taken a over a year and a half?

el pistelero... your calculations ysterday we fine.

the thing is if we'd built another centenary stand where the main stnad is at a cost of 12mil... well... the corporate boxe space alone would have paid for it many times over by now.

It was utter madness and amateur hour from mr moores and pr parry that led the club to ruin... they failed to invest wisely, instead shoveling cash at managers grudgingly and dooming to repeat the same mistakes... .then to top it the bankrupt the club by selling to G&H.

all in all if fsg just do what they say they will do there will be a club in 50 years time and that's not a bad thing... if we want the lfc of old then i'm afraid only arab money can buy leagues.... utd have shwon the way i ntheir model form the 90s. i don't think it can quite be replicated today due to the competition now for revenue etc.

I agree mate and have been saying the same for years that we missed the boat twenty years ago and I put little blame on FSG for this to be fair. They did the right thing stepping back from The Cowboys pipe dream but I just don't want us to get another ten years down the line having no new stadium or not re-developed Anfield either.

Oh and you can call me Billy <laugh> el pistolero seems so formal
