According to walesonline we are preparing a 5.5mil bid for him, I don't think we will get him but the fact that the Malaysians are prepared to sanction such an offer if its true it should put to bed any doubts about their commitment to us.
The Malaysians representatives have had a meeting with the new Labour Cardiff City Council. Both sides are trying to increase trade and cultural links between them, there are many firms in the far east that would like to employ people in Britain, Cardiff Council & the Cardiff City Malaysians wants the jobs to come to Cardiff. They are here for the long term. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/w...ef=.T7ycM0GwPHQ.like&fb_source=home_multiline
to be honest city i think the malaysians were prepared to invest in january if the prices were reasonable, we got no-one but they have intentions of buying better players and spending good money. we wont be paying anywhere near £5m for a player, swansea in the PL their highest ever buy is £3,5m for graham so that puts things into perspective.
on the BBC it says we've been linked with him as well however the Burnley chairman has said there have been no bids for him http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18182424
This is absolute rubbish, trawled from The Mirror and then repeated by local hacks! Who on earth honestly believes we would offer (even if we had the money) £5.5 million for Rodriguez?
No, that's what the South Wales Wacko SAID we offered (it's a bit like the 'we paid £4 million for Chopra', and Manyoo and Arsenal were interested in Adam Matthews at £4 million stories).
I stand corrected, it was Bolton who bid 3.5m, Cardiffs bid was for £3m. Now I understand that the media can make things up at times but i doubt every uk tabloid and broadsheet that reported on this was making the figure up. If you know for a fact otherwise I would be interested to hear.
Prices paid for players is open to manipulation , is it fee + wages + tax + signing on fee + agents fee = ??? or is it just fee + one of the above ? Had a chat with a retired agent once and he was saying the figures were completely open to being inflated or deflated by clubs as to what kind of press they wanted .
