Well we haven't actually been told yet (at least i don't think we have) although when i went to help out at The Valley the day before the final game of the season we were told we would find out the next day, but did not. Don't quite know what is taking the announcement so long, seeing as how according to the people at the club that day, it has already been signed.
Some info - 1) We are a tier 2 shirt deal with Nike as we do not sell enough shirts to be tier 1 - I guess this means we have less say in shirt design; 2 ) We wanted to discuss with Addidas but (at the present time) they weren't interested; 3) The new shirt sponsor is NOT a household name but is more likely to be a Tech Company (or perhaps) a manufacturer of slippers? 4) The shirt deal will only be for 1/2 years as the club want to keep their options open in case we get into the Prem League. 5) The club has NO external debt!
Cheers AllHell, nice to see the debts are getting sorted. To think, just a year ago it looked like administration and possibly even relegation to league 2, and yet now we are going to be competing back in the Championship after a superb season. Football is a funny old game
Weren't they the sponsor during the FADS era? I'd love Adidas too to be honest, not exactly over the moon that we have Nike
My Dad told me he hand-made Jesse Owens' shoes for the 1936 Olympics. This should be interesting on the box tonight - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-18120890
Yes, AllHell - seems to be that their parents spent most of these people's formative years denying the whole thing ever happened. There was a lot of courage on show and the unsensational style of the documentary maker perfectly complemented this. How surreal was that luxury villa and garden at Auschwitz, though? Hell of a legacy to grow up with.
