This does not look good guys.......

Today, Warnock has been quoted as saying the following:-

"I am off on holiday this week and I will be disappointed if we have not brought anybody in this week but as we talk at the moment it doesn`t look likely".

"I want one shot at that eighth promotion and I am hoping I will get sufficient support to warrant that, and only time will tell".

"You have got to try and get the signings you can as quickly as you can. We have spoken to a number of players and I am hoping to get one or two signed sooner rather than later and only time will tell if we can do it".

    EDIT

    It gets worse....

Warnock says he understands why Snodgrass won't sign a new contract (yet)

Warnock says he can understand the point of view of Robert Snodgrass and why he is waiting to see what happens in the transfer market before committing his future to Leeds.

Snodgrass has been offered a new deal at Elland Road that would make him the highest paid player at the club and Warnock has asked the club captain to commit himself for just one year as he aims for a record breaking eighth promotion in the Football League.

Warnock can understand though why Snodgrass is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal until the club show their ambitions for next season.

Speaking on Radio Leeds Warnock said, "I want to keep Snodgrass and he knows what I think about him. I do not blame him at the moment. He is waiting to see how ambitious the club is.

"When I spoke to him, he mentioned that twelve months ago it was Gradel, Johnson, Howson and me and now he is the only one left.

"I can understand where he is coming from so I can see both points of view.

Wouldn't say you're reading too much into it. As it looks, Bates is refusing to back him. Can only hope that he's being particularly anal about paying players' wages before pre-season and will start to back Warnock then (after all his first choice targets are gone, typical!)

He sounds like a beaten man, which is very unusual for NW, he's normally very upbeat. Looks as though the reality of working under Bates is kicking in.

    I really hope I'm wrong.

Tbh I am expecting (hoping beyond all belief...) that Bates will pull his finger out after pre-season started so he can save money on wages. Obviously by then we'll be signing the normal **** we have to because all the good players have already gone, buuut at least we'll have a squad next year...hopefully...

There's no doubt we'll have a squad next year, it'll just be filled with dross because bates isn't willing to pay the going rate for Championship players. He's just a stingy old ****, he can't run a business, he can't run a football club, he's got an obsession with proving people wrong even though he continues to fail horribly at it, and he won't listen when people tell him he's wrong.

He's a horrible old man who has done nothing good in his life and this is another desperate attempt to prove the doubters wrong and it's going to fail and he's going to die miserably. I will not be happy when he dies in misery because no good has come of his existence, all he has done is drag everybody down with him. He's a horrible, horrible human being and I'm ****ing sick of his stupid ****ing ramblings about bullshit. What a ****ing ****. I only hope I get the opportunity to stick my fist round his chops before he pops his clogs. ****ing prick.

Long shot - IF there is a takeover in the making, could all transfer activity be frozen until it is complete?

.... one for the financial wizards - would this freeze on asset aquisition/divestment be necessary in a takeover situation?

I think Warnock would use a different approach and tone, at the moment it is a not being backed tone rather than hands being tied complicated approach.

I could be wrong, but I thought Bates wanted to pass the club on to his family once Marko finishes him off....

In case we have to hope that either they're much more astute as businessmen, or have the common sense to realise they're really not wanted and sell up.

Either that or let Marko have his way with all of them <laugh>
