Bore off you twat. We get it, you don't like the Allams. Anything they do is wrong. you do not want an efficiently running club with a solid long term future. You don't want a proper and capable manager. You liked having a self serving director of football that cost us a fortune. You don't like me. Even though I should know better, I'm amazed even you could respond to my post in such a manner. We get it. Really. We do. Now seriously, just **** off and stop trolling my posts.
I don't mind the idea of a card that you swipe to get access to the ground but it would be a bit harsh if it stopped someone else using your seat if you were not able to get to the match. The way I look at it is if you have paid for that seat for the season then it is yours to do with what you wish. I doubt there is anyone who buys a season ticket just so they can make a profit by selling their seat for every game, most people either let a friend/relative use their ticket when they are on holiday and I dare say some get a tenner for it which is fair enough. After all it is not as if the club are losing money because they could not sell the seat again and the people in your place would probably not go to the game anyway.
I suspect it'll be the same as as the moment, in that people rip stuff out and give to friends/family for them to use, the cards wont have photos on so you just carry the risk if you give it to someone else. The risk is the same as at the moment. Just because its a card, nothing really changes. I'd like to know what the "loyalty reward" scheme will be, that sounds kinda nice. Sort of buy 10 pies and 10 pints, get 1 free! Or money off in the club shop etc?
When in the premier league second season we went to manchester city and they used the cards, we used them to go into the home end because we couldnt get tickets through the club and our friend had a spare couple, so it shouldnt be a problem
im old fashioned and prefer season pass books, i get nervous putting cards in machines, just like when paying for petrol on your card and theres that awkward couple of seconds where your not sure if its going to work...
If it's just a swipe card, then I'm sure it won't matter who is swiping it! So you'll still be able to pass the card on if you're unable to attend matches.
I think its a good bit of news, but bit of nothing news really, as clearly we know nothing of whats its going to do behind the scenes. The cards will just streamline costs and make things far cheaper to run on a day to day basis which is why its being installed. Don't mind cards, and i've never sold my ticket on, if you give it away fair enough but i don't think you should sell it, thats clearly wrong.
The cards are just the bit we'll see to be honest. The exciting bit (if you like IT and consolidation...) is in the background. Those that work there will find it much better for day to day working. It will also allow they do do stuff like the loyalty stuff, so we get better "season passes" which can be misused as before, they get a single IT system to give them a more efficient business and allow them to see everything at once. Win Win really.
hope we are getting cards instead of those dreadful books with some old soon to dead **** on the front of them
I'm not trolling in the slightest. If anything you're the one being ridiculously intolerant to anyone with a different viewpoint. You start a thread and basically have a go at anyone who disagrees with you in advance of them disagreeing. It's ****ish behaviour and it needed pointing out. Myself and the others on here who find the recent chain of alarming events to be well, alarming, are perfectly entitled to feel that way and discuss it without being told in advance that we're making **** up and whatever other overly aggressive crap was in that post.
You called me a ****. Ironic really. I've resisted doing it but now, you're being ignored, seeing as the mods refuse to do anything about your obsessive and aggressive attitude towards me.
You repeatedly talk **** and can't disagree with the rest of us without cramming it down our throats how wrong we are. It's **** behaviour. If you want to be a **** but not be called a **** when you go about it, a football forum isn't the place for you.
If it's done properly the main benefit for the club won't be a saving in turnstile operators, it'll be the saving in the production of 12,000 season ticket books and match tickets for cup games every year. There'll be the cost of the cards and the machines this year, but as they're electronically activated they won't need replacing each year, they'll just extend it on the computer. Obviously any new fans getting one will need one making, but the rest of us will get it long term. I'd expect them as well to be valid if we stop being a season ticket holder, like people going to uni, if they come back for a one off game they should be able to ring up and add them to their existing card. Assuming the season ticket books cost £1 each (they're probably more) the system pays for itself in 5 years without any of the other benefits being connected to it.
I wonder if they'd consider doing a range of custom designed cards like some of the credit card companies do, could maybe allow fans to have their card in the same colours as their favorite shirt or even their favorite player. Probably be expensive but would be a nice touch. I hope they sort us out a new manager soon, the times ahead are looking and feeling exciting again.
They won't care about someone giving their pass to someone else to use if they can't get to the game, they'll only be bothered about people using concession passes for adults.
Haha I'm always terrified the transaction didn't go through for some reason and I'm driving away without paying.
