It's because of my geography teacher

You see I bumped into the old guy one day and he was talking about a trip he had to Belfast

I asked him if it was Belfast in Portland, USA or in England, Britain

He said Belfast wasn't in England, Britain

Oh, I said, Wales, Britain? Scotland, Britain?

No, he said, It's in Ireland

I told him he was wrong because I read on the internet that people from Ireland are British...intact look on my phone at this website about nationality....

    You know what he said?

Who needs a website to tell someone where they are from...

    Good man

Ample food was being produced to sustain the masses. But Britain exported it all for trade or to feed the colonial armies and industrial revolution workforce. But rather than help the population the situation was positively seized upon by the British establishment as a means to rid the land of a rebellious and, in British eyes, unprofitable people. Britain wanted British farmers to utlise the land, that was keeping the native population alive, to use more industrial farming methods for further trade benefit.
Rents were raised, hard up families evicted into destitution. The welfare of the Irish people was of little concern to the British establishment. In fact there is a growing train of thought that it was a deliberate attempt to ethnically cleanse the land of the troublesome population, they didnt cause the blight but they certainly used it to their full advantage. When the murder weapon is hunger, its hard to find the smoking gun.
Lots of academic material about it if you delve

    you kidding right?

Its fact that the landlords mainly protestant lived in england and exploting the mainly catholic population

The muslims, or Ottoman empire at the time, wantd to send £10k in aid. The Queen said they should send £1k as she had only given £2k. The muslims did this but sent ships with food aid, which the 'British' administration tried to block. The sailors secretly left it in Drogheda Harbour

even the Native Americans sent money

Wonder if thats the reason why the native amricans were wiped out and now attempts are being made to do the same with muslims?
