Pentagon Challenge has taken an upturn. I've taken Enkopings SK to two consecutive promotions. I'm like the Nigel Adkins of the Swedish leagues . Now the job offers are flooding in, and I've accepted the post at FC Zwolle in the Dutch second division. Almost in the big leagues Career so far: MP Black Aces - 1 cup win Enkopings - 2 league wins FC Zwolle
I'm currently on a three year unbeaten streak in my Basingstoke save. The only loss in that time came in the League Cup, when I lost to Chelsea on penalties after a 2-2 draw, which for some reason counted as a draw rather than a loss. On any previous FM save the longest unbeaten run I've had is something like 30 games; I'm getting on for 200 now. It's also the first save I've had where I've received more in transfer fees than I've spent - £159m spent, £217m received. I'm trying to dismantle parts of my indestructible team though, just sold a striker I picked up for free in my debut Prem season for £40m to Marseille. Trying to bring youth through to replace - specifically English youth - but it's proving difficult. The vast majority of English regens are turd, so I've taken the plunge into International management, currently trying to steer a distinctly average England team to the Euros. We have no good forwards whatsoever, and the midfield players are so uninspiring I've blooded an 18-year old and a 19-year old, both from my club. The 18-year old has 5 goals in 7 international games from AMC, so he's the shining light. Defence is the only world-class area we have, and again one of the CBs (the best CB in the world - 20 years old) and the RB are from my club. I desperately need the country to start producing some even half-decent forwards though, as we are toothless up front. But yeh, the unbeaten thing is getting a little tiresome so I'm considering startting a new save as my Italian club, Fiorentina. Problem is, I find Serie A extremely difficult to manage in FM, and save for Joveitc, Montolivo and Vargas la Viola have a pretty dire squad at the moment. Anyone know of a fun save in any of the continents outside Europe?
That's a pretty impressive feat for Basingstoke! I've been dabbling in the leagues around the world for my pentagon challenge, but I've had a really difficult time outside Europe. I started as MP Black Aces in South Africa but was sacked after just 11 months, even though I won a cup in that time. The league is quite fun, and only 30 games long, but it's very difficult to get any foreign players in. The only ones you're likely to get are from the surrounding nations like Zambia and Botswana. South Korea is fun also, but it's impossible to remember the players' names as they're all the bloody same. I'm currently waiting for a job to become available over there so I can have a go at the Asian Champions League, then it'll be back to South Africa for the African version. You should give the challenge a go, it's never dull.
I am well happy, just won the fa cup and I rested a few players, so happy with the score, 4-0 against Birmingham with some fringe players always makes me happy, and seeing as they are a good premiership side with their best side out there it is a good result/
Just realised they made Fierro even better on the 12.2 update. They've significantly improved his heading. That boy is unstoppable.
Wonder what he will end up like in the real world, will he light up the world like he does on the game, However he did not do well for me in his loan spell but since he has gone back to his club this season he has about 24 goals in the Italian league.
I had already won the league and then I play at Chelsea and win 0-2, good to get another clean sheet, I had only conceded 2 in 7 before the last 3 league games which I had conceded 1 in each game, but a clean sheet again which is great. Even though I had conceded 3 in the previous 3, I still haven't conceded many, my record this season is great.
Somehow managed to lose to Newcastle in the Champions League final (I left after only getting a £6m budget) I'm now Porto
Finished the season with a 1-1 draw at Arsenal, quiet happy with that, top scorer only got 17 goals, he got 27 last season.
I am so ****ing pleased, 5 trophies this season, 2-0 win against Porto gave me the Champions league, I have done everything now possible at Gillingham, I will shortly be going back to my Dartford save where I am near the bottom of the football league struggling, but I am so pleased with my success in the last 8 seasons. I am so happy that my success has been recognised, I have now entered the Hall of fame after all my success. What a great season so now it is back to my dreadful Dartford save where I have nearly nothing, no quality at all and it will take a lot of work to keep them in the football league.
The board have announced that they are expanding my stadium at last, I have been asking for the last 2 years ever since they built the stadium as 26k stadium for a top premiership club is not good enough, they started building it just as I got promoted to the Premiership so that is why it is so small, but they have at last announced that they are expanding it so it will hold 39k which is ok.
Just gone back to my Dartford save after winning all that with Gillingham, I am quiet happy with how my last game went, managed to win 1-2 at Crawley, with my **** side that is good, I hope I will be able to stay in the football league, I hope my new loan signing who I have for 3 months should be able to get me through to January in a safe position, I got Jack Payne on a three month loan from Gillingham, Surprised they loaned him as he is good, probably because I offered a 35k fee for the 3 months and I pay all his wages, but he is one of the best midfielder at the club but they are now in league 1 and he has been dropped to the bench, must be that their manager sees others players as better. I have so many players it is annoying as there is not much quality between them, just loads of cheap contracts, luckily most only have 1 year contracts so they can go at the end of the season, it does show that I played on that save a long time ago as I did not have as good knowledge as I do now since I have played as Gillingham.
The rules in the lower Dutch divisions are ridiculous. I've qualified for the playoffs after 8 games .
My board have decided to celebrate winning the league for the first time by selling the 54k St Mary's (which I only had for a year but sold out every single game) by building me the new 72k Liebherr Stadium, thanks guys
Speaking of stadium names, I'm currently playing away at Almere City and their stadium is called Mitsubishi Forklift Stadion. Just thought I should share that with you.
Big moment in the pentagon challenge. I've just got Zwolle promoted to the Eredivisie, and am apparently now favourite for the vacant position at South Korean side Seongnam. They are halfway through their season and are already in the quarter finals of the Asian Champions League. Score! Anyone got any experience managing in the K-League? I could use some tips.
Dienze are the champions of Belgium! Fabio Tonini is so good. I'm off to Jaguares in Mexico to see what I can do. Just seen Jackson Martinez, what a player.
