De Jong is too valuable to Citeh, come off it they have to juggle WINNING the Champions league with keeping United at bay. De Jong is exactly the person they cannot lose (on the bench in the must wn matches....playing against us, wigan and swansea)......However it could be a case for De Jong of Citeh stump up a new lucrative contract or I am off....and we are exactly the team they would sell to...no threat to them!

I agree, Oslo. Derry still has a part to play.

I agree as well, while his place on the pitch would not be as frequent with an additional CM I think his place on the training ground and behind the scenes could be invaluable. The FA cup Win will take a lot out of the players and we will need to rest a few players, we'll really shake them up when we win the FA cup cus Rangers is greatest football team.

I think you guys get blinkered by his commitment sometimes. He had some really bad performances this season, blackburn at home stuck out like a sore thumb for me. Great guy and did us proud for 2 seasons but if he plays next season we will have another relegation fight on our hands.

The article does not contain a single shred of evidence that this in the offing other than to tie some disparate facts together so don't get your hopes up. Having said that we should certainly be looking for MH's first marquee signing so we can see the level we are gunning for - right now the level is set by our resigning a crocked full back. I for one hope we don't have to wait all summer like last year.

Would love him, we really need 3 top players down the spine of the team. CM, CB and goalie.

He would sort out the CM position.

Horrible player and person that De jong is.I want him far away from a football as possible.

People go on about "hard men" in football like your Roy Keane's and your Vieira's and they make out that Barton is a monster just because he says what he wants and gets a bit out of control, but people just put him down instead of helping him and they wonder why he keeps getting himself into trouble....

Better to have a player with some problems that some blood thirsty scumbag like De jong who breaks people's legs and tries to destroy peoples organs....

I caught him interfering with my casio once, but I managed to give him a good whack in the bugle with my banjo; don't think he'll try that one again
