http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2785882,00.html So, seems like they are actually modernising and updating the backend office systems, which isn't really the actions of shysters or people not going about managing a company such as a football club properly. Plus, seems the delay for season tickets is the rather nice and modern approach they plan to take with the issue of cards which will have many uses and benefits. I can't wait to see how some of you read between the lines and come up with some made up, paranoid ****e suggesting its part of the Allams evil plan to destroy our club.
No one has suggested we're inventing new stuff here...they are just doing what is needed to make the club function more efficiently by making good, sensible business decisions.
will this card include a photo? it would stop me giving my ticket away if i can't make a game, seem a shame to waste them sometimes or will it stop ppl selling them?
I bought a ticket off some guy for £10 for the Barnsley game, his son couldn't make it, it was a good deal as any! Does this then mean they won't be able to happen?
Well I asked the question on the FB page and got the following: Seemed a bit harsh and funny too when sadly I live too far away to be a season ticket holder, but my card is as they say, now marked!
They might even do away with the turnstile operators and use a swipe entry system used at some grounds? Save on turnstile wages?
I have used a card system at Manchester City when the father in law to be has not gone to matches. He is an OAP ticket holder and he just rings so they upgrade the card for the match I am attending. He is pretty honest but the card has never been checked and I assume I would have still got in if he had not upgraded the card. Its good for cup matches too as they load the card with the 'access credit' for that game. Managed to see Juventus last season and the Spurs/derby match this season. Facilities for fans there are great (never went in our EPL season) and it would have been nice to see the Allams do something similar here given the chance. Same the Council are not so forward thinking.
I think that's the eventual plan. I think the bigger change will be the behind the scenes infrastructure change. I know there are people at the club who have been looking forward to this for a long time, and will make a difference to the day-to-day running.
So what are the benefits of this then? Why are the Allams paying for new hardware for the KC stadium ?
As I've said a few times, the delay in passes is down to them completely overhauling the seating structure and similar things. That's what I've heard from the club. This will no doubt be a part of that overhaul, but I don't really see what's so fantastic about it. Apart from yet more job losses at the club, what difference will it make. Ricardo and I discussed these cards a while back and concluded that it's actually easier to trick a machine than a turnstile attendant (what's to stop everyone buying children's passes?) I don't know if I'm missing something, but 'many uses and benefits' seems a big exaggeration. Also, reading this post would make me think, if I didn't know better, that you were a ****.
