Good Morning everybody,

We should find out today who Joel Ward's decision who he wants to move to, and it is between Ipswich, and one other club!!! Ward is expected to meet again with manager Paul Jewell and speak with owner Marcus Evans before making his drawn-out decision over whether to be the Blues’ first signing of the summer .
A source close to Portsmouth said: “Joel is taking his time but Ipswich are right up there. He likes Paul Jewell’s experience of gaining promotion, the financial stability of the club and the desire of the owner Marcus Evans to get to the Promised Land of the Premier League.”

My question is, has this close source to Ward got Paul Jewell confused with someone else????

Aidy White is NOT expected to be a Leeds player next season. I find this incredibly difficult to swallow. He WANTS to be at Leeds, and he wants to sign a new contract. I do not understand it....

Snodgrass is well and truly standing up to Bates. In an interview with the Mail, Snodds has said “The chairman is trying to put a bit of pressure on me and he's telling me what plans he has for the club. But they told me the same type of plans the season before and it didn’t work out so it's hard to buy into these things again.” He also revealed that Neil Warnock has promised the Scot can leave Elland Road next summer if Leeds don’t get promoted, but even that guarantee hasn’t persuaded Snoddy to extend his contract.

“He [Warnock]has already said he won’t be sticking around much longer. Who knows whether he has one or two more years left at Leeds? 'It's all right for him to say he could get me a move but if he leaves the people above him in the football club are not going to worry about what he said. My future doesn’t lie in the hands of Neil Warnock, it's in the hands of Robert Snodgrass"

It's been obvious for several weeks, we were losing MCCormack, Aidy and Snoddy. Like most of the recent players we've lost, they have higher ambitions than the club. Let's just hope warnock can assemble a team for the coming season rather than the bunch of individuals weve been accustomed to

Morning. I suspect the Snoddy interview has a bit of editing in it, maybe the journo hopes he will sign for Celtic. All together now.....hahahahaha.

I really can't believe he said Warnock told him he's not sticking around. That has to be a bit touched up. We all know the length of Warnock's contract, but I doubt he would have said the words walk away to Snods. It is clear our skipper (and I don't think he should be) is waiting to see who signs, and then he will decide on signing a new deal. Snods will be at Leeds next season, he can't lose. A good season for him and he has everything in his favour - Leeds go up and he's in the Prem and a legend or miss promotion and he walks on a free with so many more clubs in line due to no fee.

Morning Josh, I would prefer White to sign. Surely, we MUST keep hold of our home grown talent.

Regarding Ward, I do not like the way Ipwich are stiring things. It was them last week that said Leeds could not raise the cash

Morning Eire, Im not much of a McCormack fan, he misses an awful lot of chances which I think Beckford would have tucked away. What I believe Warnock qwill be good at is making the team play as One. Lets hopew, anyway.....

Have to laugh at Ipswich apparently telling Ward they are financially secure! They have overspent on dross and have a manager who's lost his touch. Ward will be fighting relegation if he goes there, and Ipswich are another club who must get promotion next season or face potential ruin.

Morning Billy,

All journalists will throw a story up in the air, twist it around and put it back together again to see if they can spice it up, most are scum... Its good to see Snodds taking on Bates. Just hope he is more successful than Parker....

Morning - I was confident of Ward until reading this thread, I had no idea he was going back to speak to the Ipswich bosses today before making his mind up, that spells the end for our chase. Forget Ward for a moment though, Warnock wanted a MINIMUM of 3-4 before he went on holiday, we know that isn't going to happen now but how disappointing we are all getting excited about one player in Ward - What about the other signings, why are they not materialising, maybe if we had brought in another **** hot player Ward could see the clubs ambition and might have signed, instead he see's a club paralysed with finances and must sell to buy and a club that cannot sort contracts out for the better players, would anyone blame him for not signing?

Morning Ristac, Suppose nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors,BUT, one thing I'm sure of is that if Warnock was not happy, he would just walk out on us...

LUFC Accounts: Update on Contact with Baker Tilly
please log in to view this image
Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10:55PM
In April, the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust board wrote to Baker Tilly, the company that audited Leeds United’s most recent set of accounts. We wanted to bring their attention to several errors that a number of our members, who have a background in professional finance, had identified in the account documents. Copies of our letter were also sent to Shaun Harvey and Companies House.
Baker Tilly replied on 23rd April, noting that we had copied our letter to Shaun Harvey and stating that for “professional and legal reasons, it is not appropriate for us to enter into correspondence with shareholders or stakeholders.” We have attempted to contact Baker Tilly by telephone to clarify the situation but without success, and have not received a reply from Shaun Harvey or from Companies house as yet.
We still feel that what appear to be numerous errors in the accounts are cause for concern, and so in accordance with our letter to Baker Tilly we are now sharing our findings with our members.
This is a copy of the letter we sent to Baker Tilly on 10th April.

Mr. Andrew P Allchin
Baker Tilly UK Audit LLP
2 Whitehall Quay
Leeds
LS1 4HG

10th April 2012

Dear Sir
Leeds City Holdings Limited and Subsidiaries
We write on behalf of our members who are significant stakeholders in Leeds United Football Club. We have undertaken a review of the financial statements of the above named company (and its subsidiaries) for the year ended 30th June 2011 and invite you to comment on our findings before we report them to our members.
Leeds City Holdings Limited
The group balance sheet discloses creditors due within one year as £15,810,000, however note 13 states this figure is £15,807,000.
The consolidated cash flow states ‘net cash inflow/ (outflow)’. There is no need for the ‘/ (outflow)’ since both periods generated an inflow.
Reconciliation of operating loss to cash flow from operating activities should read reconciliation of operating profit/(loss) to cash flow from operating activities
Note 10 states that a transfer has occurred from amounts due from group undertakings to fixed asset investments. This implies the prior year comparatives have been restated, why therefore is there no disclosure neither in the directors’ report nor the financial statements of this fact?
Note 23 discloses dealings between the company and a subsidiary, Yorkshire Radio Limited, which would appear to indicate that Yorkshire Radio Limited has not been consolidated within these financial statements. If this is the case then why is there a note detailing this? If Yorkshire Radio Limited has been consolidated within these financial statements then why is there no
minority interest shown within the financial statements?
If Yorkshire Radio Limited owed the company £1,980,516 as at 30th June 2010 why does the balance sheet note only show amounts due from group undertakings of £1,471,100?
If Yorkshire Radio Limited owed the company £2,075,711 as at 30th June 2011 why does the balance sheet note show no amounts due?
Leeds United Centenary Pavilion Limited
The director’s report has a heading for results and dividends but makes no comment on either the result or dividend proposals.
Note 12 indicates that the loss for the year was £196,776,000 and that the shareholder’s funds are (£196,775,000).
Leeds United Football Club Limited
Note 8, Intangible fixed assets does not cast. The total net book value for the year should be £7,060,000 not £7,061,000 if all the individual figures are correct.
Note 9 shows a transfer of assets to another group company, however no depreciation has been transferred over. It is logical to assume that this transfer was to Leeds United Centenary Pavilion Limited; however the financial statements of that company (nor any other group company) do not disclose this being the case. Surely such an omission indicates the financial statements do not present a true and fair view?
The additions in the year as per note 9 total £3,022,000, however the addition line actual casts to £3,045,000. The leasehold land and buildings cost as at 30th June 2011 is disclosed as £97,000, however the note casts to £120,000. This would suggest that the leasehold land and buildings asset, currently disclosed at £55,000 is misstated by £23,000. Whilst to the balance sheet as a whole this is not a material error, it is material to the understanding of the value of leasehold land and buildings held by the company.
Leeds United Media Limited
The director’s report makes no reference to results and dividends, even though all other group companies’ financial statements do so.
The financial statements contain numerous grammatical and spelling errors, for example on the director’s report, 'loosing' rather than 'losing'.
The profit and loss account refers to note 15; however the notes to the financial statements only go to note 13.
All the note references on the balance sheet are incorrect, starting with no note reference for the fixed asset investment and all other note references being out by 1.
Note 11 discloses a loss of £2,422,000 as opposed to £2,422.
Whilst the above can be down to a lack of a final check post late adjustments, it is worrying that the total of £294,598 shown in note 8, detailing creditors due within one year, does not agree with the figure on the balance sheet (£297,448).
We also note that the accounts were signed on 15 February 2012 which would have left you 45 days to check these accounts for errors before they were published.
Furthermore, note 13 highlights that during the year Leeds United Media was advanced £255,476 from Leeds United Football Club Limited and that as at the year end the balance owed to Leeds United Football Club Limited was £255,476. However the amounts owed in total to group undertakings disclosed within note 8 is only £185,000. Coincidently an amount due
from group undertakings as disclosed within note 7 is £255,476.

In light of the above do you still stand by your audit opinion, namely that the financial statements:
• Give a true and fair view of the company’s affairs as at 30 June 2011 and of its loss for the year then ended;
• Have been properly prepared in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practices;
• Have been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006?

We look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Yours Faithfully

Gary Cooper
Chairman
For and Behalf of Leeds United Supporters Trust.

Morning all. Looks like no actual progress yet on further incomings or outgoings. But I remain hopeful. Glass almost always at least half full, despite being a lifelong Leeds fan. Heyho, some people will never learn!!!

Morning all <ok>

Lovely day to be off work. First day off this year, shame I've got to take the young un up the hospital but after that its beers in the garden I think <cheers>

Could the Ward delay be something to do with using Paynter as part of the deal? Maybe there gaffer wants it & the admins would prefer the cash.... Just a personal thought after reading Boabs thread....

Hi Ell

Not in La Coruña at the mo, but wish I was.

Regarding Ward, I htink a lot of this is brilliant Ipswich propaganda, and I will set out my reasons why.

a) Warnock is going on holiday tomorrow
b) I think he may have asked Ward and Pompey to make a decision before he goes on holiday otherwise we pull out
c) Ward is 95% coming to Leeds but is showing some courtesy to Ipswich in going to speak to them and he will probably be taking his family (is he married, does he have kids, or would he be moving on his own? If the latter he may prefer to go where Pearce is.)
d) Everyone knows that Leeds - even with Bates - have a better opportunity of proomotion than Ipswich

Eire - it read very gloomy. Thought you had got out of the wrong side of the bed
