Could be on the radar... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-want-to-sign-manchester-city-844036
Exactly what we need and were missing away from home last year. A Ball winner in the centre of the park. Would be well happy and have championed him for a while. Hope this happens.
Man Citeh paid 18 million for him 3 years ago. I cannot see TF paying anywhere near that for him. Neither would I.
only 12 months left on his contract so not worth anywhere near that, reckon we could get him for around £6-7 mill.
Definetely, yes please. Or is he too old, he doesn't look it?! With him, Ale, Diakite and Derry we would be well covered defensive central midfield, without Barton.
I really think if we get de jong or someone like him that will be the end of Derry I believe , especially if Ale comes back.
Even with De Jong or similar we will need back up in central defensive midfield especially if Barton goes- so we need Derry for that, plus his leadership, drive and experience on/off the pitch.
I think this is one that would appeal to de Jong, pretty nailed-on to play every game, an ambitious upward looking club and would keep his international prospects rosy. Ticks all the right boxes and possible captain material...
Good player but also someone that Citeh have used, with good effect, towards then end of last season allow them to push Yaya forward so unless they have a replacement I don't think they will off load him. Sceptical but hey no harm in dreaming.
Oslo i admire your loyalty to Derry but we will not have a good season if he plays more than 10 games. The crux is SD is too slow and poor touch, great attitude but just not a prem player. We need better players than him to be safe next year and De jong ticks the boxes. Compare his experience to Derry's, and he can play. New CM , new CB and new keeper are the three key positions to fill this summer.
As I said I'd love De Jong, but we need Derry as back-up. Derry was rated as one of our best on the park by many in the last games of the season - he's not finished yet.
