While beating Chelsea at home was magnificent, I’d go, like a few others on this thread, for the last few minutes of our home games against Stoke a couple of Sunday’s ago. With relegation looming large Loftus Road erupted as Cisse swept Ferdinand’s header into the goal to score the only goal of the match. I believe that “PigBag” was blasting out on the P.A. system but we were making so much noise that I couldn’t hear it. Before we could pause to gather breath the news that West Brom had equalised against Bolton filtered through, the noise went up another 10 decibels as we cheered our team home. The atmosphere was incredible as Loftus Road rocked. I think that is why we all go to football.
Do we still play pigbag? I have to say I've not noticed it when we've scored for some time. I know the fans do the tune but is it actually played through the speakers?
All the goals mentioned here were decisive in their own right, but I believe that Mackie's winner against Liverpoool set us on the path of our great escape this season.
Beating the scum 1-0 after all these years, many other moments were superb and unforgettable but nothing compares to sticking it up that bunch of ****s!European champions,we'll **** em.
beating the european champions (scum),adels goal against the arse, jol getting rebuffed by sparky(should have done a barton),seeing all them hooptons going SPASTIC at the etihad when mackie scored, yeh brilliant season, the HOOPS don't do simple and that is what makes me lov'em,onwards and up.
Have to be the crazy 15 minutes against Liverpool that completely turned our season around, we'd be in the championship now if it weren't for Derry, Cisse and Mackies goals that night. As Nines said, spot on. Closely followed by Cisse's winner against Stoke. It helps of course that I was blessed enough to be there on both occasions. God I'm lucky, to be an R, there's no better feeling. On a personal note though, meeting several of the great people here on not606 will live long in my memory. Nines, CORKeR, Ciarrai-Abu, Roller and Brixton, hope to see you again next season for more great moments.
Moment of the season? Your responses tend towards Jamie's winner against Liverpool - and you're probably right, with Cisse's life saver followed by WBA's equaliser at Bolton confirming it coming a close second..., but I don't know. It's like looking back at the photos of a great holiday isn't it? They're all such great moments one way or another. Which to pick for the frame in the hallway?
You're lucky Norway? WE'RE the lucky ones - having two guys (one big, one little!) so committed to our club that they'll think nothing of jumping on a plane and flying what must be the best part of 2,000 miles and back just to watch them Rs! Puts us locals to shame mate... you're what I call a real hardcore Ranger!! Look forward to your next trip.
Crouchies goal against Bolton has to be up there somewhere doesnt it? But I'd go for Cisse's against Stoke.......The man delivered exactly as he said he would...!!
Not sure, I know Rooney got the best ever scored in the Prem against Citeh...crouchies must have been up there....bet he couldnt do it again though!!
He did that challenge in the sun and to be fair replicated it several times!! Albeit without quite the same pressure.
