    YV's Winners

    Isaksson
Cahill, Sagna, Zhirkov, Van Der Wiel
    Young, VDV, Busquets, Kroos(c)
    Jelavic, C. Ronaldo

    Bench: Akinfeev, Olsson, Gibson, Schurrle.

Not sure whether Busquets will get me any points, might need to read the rules at some point.

Lewandowski - good choice. I was debating between him or Ibra, despite Ibra never turning up in major tournaments, I just thought surely this will be his time! Though I think Lewandowski can be a dark horse for the golden boot, put a few quid on him a couple of days ago at Paddy Power @40/1, he's now dropped to 25/1, perhaps people are getting the same feeling.

Interesting choice sticking Isaksson over Akinfeev, I'd say Akinfeev is better and Russia are more defensively solid.

In regards to Busquets, I think he's a great player but he's not one for assists/ goals. Schurrle might be a better shout though I think he might be starting from the bench more often than not.

I was going to pick Isaksson for the first round and Akinfeev for the third round, wasn't sure who to pick for the second round, I guess it depends how England do in the first match. Busquets probably won't get much but he could be good value if he plays all their games and gets say 2 cleansheets in the groups. A friend of mine who lives in Germany reckons Schurrle will impress in the Euros, I know little of him but since he's got 5 goals in 12 internationals I figure he's worth a punt.

Now that I've explained my reasoning they'll probably all flop :D

Erm, given the squads have yet to be finalised, isn't picking a team for the tourney jumping the gun a bit?

Picked my team but didnt read the rules

    Action Points
For playing in a game 1
For playing at least 60 minutes in a game (includes playing points mentioned above) 2
For each goal scored by your goalkeeper or defenders 6
For each goal scored by your midfielders 5
For each goal scored by your forwards 4
For each goal assist * 3
For your goalkeeper conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) 4
For your defenders conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) 4
For your midfielders conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) 1
For earning a penalty after the referee adjudges that the player had been fouled 1
For conceding a penalty after the referee adjudges that an infringement takes place in the penalty area that results in a kick from the penalty spot -1
    For every penalty miss -2
    For every penalty save 5
For every 2 goals conceded by your goalkeeper or defenders -1
    For every yellow card -1
For every red card (includes any yellow card points) -3
    For every 3 saves 1
For every 5 recovered balls (the total of clearances completed and gaining possession tackles) 1
    Assists *

An assist is awarded when the goalscorer receives the ball directly from a team-mate (including the goalkeeper) and scores without having to take the ball past an opponent. If the pass takes a small deflection which does not change the direction of the ball, it will still be given. No assists are awarded for own goals or penalties. Live assists are provisional and will be reviewed within 24 hours of the match.

I guess we'll find out on June 8th.

On second thought, the midfield could do with another tinkering...

Midfield is pretty good I think HBIC, it's your strike force that looks a bit weak.

Hope you dont mind me joining your league, I always look at everyone elses team and think they look so much better than mine but here we go
    Hart,
    Mathijsen, Pique, Ignashevich, Badstuber
    Modric, Montolivo, Gusev, Nasri
    Lewandowski, Pavlyuchenko
    Subs Cech, Fetfadzisis, Bonnuci, Pekhart,

Just hoping that Russians and Poles make the most of the 'easiest' group!

We have an intruder!...no of course not mate..........ive changed my team again to 4-4-2 as from looking at the rules/point systems, good defenders and midfielders should be the top scorers.
