Fair enough. As for RVP, he was always class but was injury prone. This full season was a bolt out of the blue wasn't it. No one would have expected him to play an entire season injury free and be so prolific. Maybe somethings changed in his training methods and can be passed onto Diaby?

By Belanos and Toutatis man ! I have made it quite clear - Walcott plays further forward than Bale who for a period, was played in midfield and he still scored and assisted more goals than Walcott. Had Bale been played as far forward as Walcott was at times, his stats would be even better.

Is Walcott better than Bale in anyway? The only thing i can think of is pace and even then, Bale seems to ghost past players better whereas Walcott struggles. This i suppose is partly due to his lack of strength on the ball. Walcott is good at balls played into space, which im sure Bale can be good in too. Maybe walcott's finishing is better?

I agree that RVP was always class but other fans have not agreed with this up until now which was the point I was trying to make, let’s hope Diaby can follow suit <ok>

And I made it clear that they can play the same role which was why I was comparing them, it’s simple really. The last part of your comment is purely speculation he may not be able to adapt to a more forward position, saying his stats would be better is pure speculation.
Again I will point out that I think Bale is the better player but he is not in my opinion a much better player as they both have limitations in my opinion that prevents them from being world class.

Lazarus - who would you prefer coming at you ... Bale or Walcott ?

I can't believe we are even discussing this. ALTBOULI, yes they can play the same position BUT they have not and Bale has still scored and assisted more.

Football is not so simple as you seem to think it is, Arsenal play differently to Spurs and our formation is different, I have stated countless times that I think Bale and the brought up for this thread is who would you take from Spurs and many have stated that Bale. Now we lets just hypothetically say that he were to come (will never happen) I don’t think Wenger would change his formation to fit in Bale which just leaves him replacing one of our starting player. In this scenario Walcott would be the ideal change..what is so hard to follow with this, its common sense really. Now I am stating that he may adapt to a more forward role if he hypothetically were to join us, stats wise they are very similar and I don’t think he is a major improvement especially given his price...this about sums up what I was saying.

Hope this helps clarifies things <ok>

Bale is a complete nightmare to defend against, he is the complete package. Walcott is deadly if the conditions are right, he generally struggles to adapt to different situations. If you don't play Walcott in his preferred way, then he's not worth playing.

I'll just watch him taking on the mighty PAOK and Shamrock Rovers after Eastenders instead

Looks like Modric may be joining Man U, be an equally sad day for you if Bale follows his team mate.

He'll come back revelling in Szczesny's sending off. Anything to scrape the barrel.

Poor spuds.
