It's a slightly odd way to go about it from Talk****e. It says more about which teams home fans go to see their team against more than what teams take away. You'd expect the Uniteds and Citys to draw in a big crowd but then I'd expect the crowd to be relatively high against the likes of us and Norwich which will normally be the cheapest games of the season for home fans and a decent away turnout.

Do clubs still collate the away turnouts like back in the day?

It also slightly favours the clubs with the smallest grounds who, on average, will be playing their away games in bigger grounds. QPR and Man Utd, for example, play 18 games on a level footing, so to speak, and we then have a 19th game at Old Trafford in front of 75,000 while they have a 19th at Loftus Road in front of 185000 max.

"And the winners are... Free-flowing Swansea! Yes, they may have one of the division's smaller grounds but this is surely indicative, too, of the attractive brand of football Brendan Rodgers has instilled in his Swans - making them one of the Premier League's most watchable teams"

The writer has clearly not seen them live.

Agree Watford it is done in a strange way. Wigan ended up quite high when we all know Wigan and Fulham have the worst away support in the Premiership. What they needed to do was collect in the total away fans for each game and do an average.
