Sheff Wednesday have pulled out of the race to sign Joel Ward. Would not have thought they stood much of a chance in the first place. What is quite interesting about this article is that it claims that Leeds are in pole position to still land him..... Snoddgrass has refused to sign a contract until Leeds prove there ambition. Is this a shroud move, or will Bates cash in early. Good move or bad??? Regarding incoming transfers, Warnock has been quoted as saying "It's not been straightforward by any means," "I'm disappointed we haven't got one or two more over the dotted line, but we just haven't quite been able to finish them off really and I'm optimistic we can push on. !!!! Further to yesterdays article regarding another high Court action for Mr Bates, this time regarding policing costs. West Yorkshire police have come out and said the following. “In cash terms, this represents an underpayment of between £20,000 and in excess of £100,000 per game, therefore it is [United who are] being supported at the expense of the taxpayer.”
Morning Elland. Shroud move? We're not bringing religion into this are we? God 'elp us!!!!! Or is it preparation for Tom Kirwin to say, Turin son, Turin. Go & score one for yourself!!! Maybe that should have been shrewd move!!!
Fair enough Elland. Any tweets from anyone that matters on likely incomings/outgoings? Back to your original post. If Snoddy is waiting to see who comes in before comitting himself, I think this is actually quite reasonable. He has marketable skills that deserve showing off at a higher level. He & a good few others won't want a season of highs & lows with us struggling to maintain a top 6 spot nevermind auto. I think if he, White, Ross, & even Becchio get the feeling that no one is coming in that will push us on to a genuine challenge for auto, they'll be off & we can resign ourselves to a few more seasons in the championship. Given what Papa Smurf & Warnock have already said, I do genuinely belive that they're trying to do deals to push the club forward. May be we'll learn a bit more about the reasons behind the delay in bringing in more players in due course. & then again, there goes another pink pig sauntering high over the horizon. At least we've got the Euros & the olympics to look forward to!!!! & then again, maybe not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder if the police can use the legal system to ban supporters from home games at Elland Road? Gillingham recently had an issue with the police and they were forced to ban away supporters for a recent home game, due to the action of the police. If the police feel the club do not co-operate or don't take the levels of security/safety required, they can shut the ground down. The fact they are owed money, may make them use this kind of tactic (legally of course).
Morning all The policing costs issues have gone on for years. Maybe this is the new plan: piss off the fans so much they don't bother turning up, so the policing costs are reduced?
Morning all - Snoddy waiting to see who comes in is GOOD GOOD GOOD all round... 1) It might make the powers that be rush through some transfers, they know the reaction fans will have should the second captain in 12 months be sold through lack of ambition 2) It means he hasn't agreed to go elsewhere and might still sign 3) It means the contract really isn't an issue, Snodgrass is clearly saying happy with the terms just get some decent players through the door.
4) His agent is busy working behind the scenes trying to get him a move to the premiership - in my opinion he will look like a rabbit in headlights if he makes the step up
At the same time though you might sign people just for the sake of it and might not be players that are right for you just to pacify him which is the last thing you want, like us we only want Millwall type players that are going to fit in and be right for the club
Morning bucks Pretty cool picture **** knows what's wrong with Josh today, maybe he never had his three shredded wheat
Got to go with Geezer, Snoddy has never put me on the edge of my seat, and i do think half decent defenders will show him the channel then take him out Bye the way Morning all, were are the sheep sh*****s today
Warnock knows exactly who he wants, just a case of getting the ****er Bates to agree - I don't read it that way, well I do and I dont... Snoddy has clearly said several times that he basically wants to see action not false promises if he is to sign a new contract, he is happy to run down his contract as well meaning the ball is in Bates court... Rather than Bates put pressure on Snoddy he needs to get his finger out, get Ward signed up, get the contract of White and maybe Clayton sorted, get a strong strike partner in if McCormack is not going to sign and secure us a couple of other decent quality players... THEN go to Snoddy and say we have Pearce, Ward, Player X, Player Y, PlayerZ all in place, can you sign the contract now... With how last season went, with Warnock wanting to bring in players and with the risk of having one of the if not 'the' most outspoken managers ready to blow the lid and walk saying no funds chaps and with Snodgrass speaking out left right and center it really is NOW or NEVER under Bates, this really is last chance salon, will it be enough to back the ****er into a corner so he has to act?? Warnock/Snoddy combo could be the best thing to happen to us in a while because one way or another it is going to sort us out once and for all, either funds released or any Leeds supporter with an ounce of sense turning on bates like a hungry pack of wolves
Morning Doha, Snod always looked good against the prem boys we played. Only thing stopping him being a top top player is his pace & a good manager will work with that. Not many wingers have everything & he will make it at a higher level without a doubt IMO.
