I had put as my claim to fame somewhere that I'd seen every second of Dyer's QPR career. Then again, it may still be true. Bizarre is the only word for it.
We are all waiting with bated breath for the string of big announcements that TF promised us. And the first major news is...(drum roll)...that a 33 year old crock who played 3 minutes of the 2011/12 season merits another year in our squad. Not sure where that places our long term ambition but its certainly not what I expected to be reading.
We were told last year that Dyer was on a pay as you play deal. Must be totally skint by now if that's the case. They've also said that he's a great asset behind the scenes... but to imply that he's a himself a year's contract as a player really needs a bit more explaining imo.
Be fair he also made the 'Worst Ever England Team' on BBC3 last night. 33 caps in midfield, no goals.
This is scary news, could it mean Sparky isn't going to get the money for new players that he was hoping to get?
Kieron Dyer is a nice bloke and good behind the scenes (apparently)..No one has said he's going to be in the 25 man squad, and didnt we recently sack the Tea Lady? Match made in heaven for me...!!
Yeah, we should sign the squirrel up too. I've heard he's got the magic of a BRAZILian, is a big fan of Bob HAZELL, and his trademark is the NUTmeg. The problem is that he'd cost a lot of CASH(hew)...
I don't know what all the whinging is for. Later reports have Kieron signing another pay-as-you-play deal. So what? It is hardly going to break the bank. There probably will be a small basic payment as well. So what? The fact that Hughes is keeping him means that there must be a reason and even if that reason is just to make up the numbers in training then so what? It is not like he will cost a fortune for no return like Vine, Agyemang, Cook, et al. It might be helpful to know exactly what Hughes sees as his role in the next year, to stop all this stupid speculation. Last year all we heard up until Christmas (from quite a few poeple) was "In Warnock we trust". We should trust Hughes in the same way. His three signings - Cisse, Diakite and Taiwo - have been good for the club (even if Mr Cisse let us down a bit). Why should the opinion of Hughes and the new arrival, Mike Rigg, be questioned now?
I agree Eamon. I'm sure MH knows more than any of us and sees his value, coaching maybe, behind the scenes for whatever we are paying. If he gets fully fit and can be considered for the 25 that'll probably be a bonus.
Absolutely in Sparky we trust. Dyer wasn't in the 25 squad from January and so will have been unavailable for selection but could have been superfit for all we know...Did he play in the reserves???? Anyway in Sparky we trust.......he has done good for us so far.....Cisse, Taiwo, Diakite, Onauhu and getting the best out of our back four, including making Clint a phenomena force....and in the ongoing project of getting Jamie to become the new incarnation of Mark Hughes
