Afternoon lads, just wondering how many people on here would like to see Mensah sign on a permanent despite his awful form. If anyone remembers me from 606, i was never a huge fan of Mensah, always seeing him as cover whereas others would say he was our best CB. Hes had afew rotten games, for us and Ghana and i am wondering if anyone now doesnt want to sign him? I would still sign him, he knows the area, knows the lads and wants to be here, and for 5million i think it would be a good deal if he can come into the team once in a while. If we dont sign him, we will just have to sign someone else and they might not want to be here or might not get on well with the team unlike Mensah who seems too enjoy the club and is a good character in the dressing room from what it seems. For anyone who wouldnt sign him, would instead look at getting like a Gary Cahill for 10million who be a starter and is a real talent? I personally would stick with what we have and look to improve on the places we need first such as a striker, Left Winger and dare i say left Back whilst theres money there too be spent.
Personally, no. Great player, but like Ledley King, cannot be relied on when the push comes to the shove at the end of the season. I would get in a proven PL defender, like Bramble, not another South American, please no Brucey.
Not for me, regardless of price. He's out injured more than he's available. Thank John for the good games, but time to move on. I'd bring in Nedum permanently for around the same price quoted for Mensah (ã5m-ish) and have him compete at CB, and a useful fill in at RB if needed. A flexibility Mensah doesn't offer.

Mensah loves the place loves the area, (oh no not again), persuaded some others to come and join us..........Hmmmmmm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.....? But he is without doubt a good defender, generally knows where to be at the right time, put in some crucial tackles, just seems a bit off the boil at the mo. Anyone know when his contract with Lyon is up?
As people have stated on other threads, you don't become a bad player overnight and Mensah is very good - sign him, 2-5 million sounds about right due to his recurring back problem, otherwise, it would be significantly more. I've said it before, I think he is one of the best defenders in this league when fully fit, however now the doomers and gloomers are on his case due to him being off form of late. Thank goodness the fan base doesn't run the club - imagine if we had Rooney or Drogba - are they also pants? Other players mentioned: Cahill and Samba - a huge YES! to either or both, though I think they'll both garner bigger price tags (if not wage demands) than we're willing to fork out and the rumours suggest Manure, Spurs, Arseholes and Chelski are in the running for these 2, so what will they go for (especially Cahill) and where will they prefer? Yes to Neddy and how about Hutton? I think spurs are releasing him - and there's rich pickings there with Pav and Kranks also being released according to today's press.
On another note - anyone else think Mensah is really intelligent? I'll get me coat. Lol Bart PS - I'd sign him if we could get him for ã2.5m MAX.
Been crap this season can't remember a good game he has had (Arsenal away maybe) too injury prone. If you'd asked last season I would have said yes but not now not even for 2.5mil. Would look at Samba big daft defender and a leader which is what we are missing lately scores the odd goal too.
