Just been on twitter from Sky Sports. I suppose winning the champions league with your final kick isn't a bad way to go.

How do you feel about this Chelsea fans?

Been a great servant apart from when he opened his big gob a couple of years back and it's time for him to move on for his swansong!

Drogba is a legend at this club. He has done special things for us. His performance in the Champions League final tops the lot of them. Drogba is a Chelsea all time great.

Gourlay and Buck said they were waiting till mid week to sit down and have a chat about extending his current deal, if he goes then good luck to him, amazing player and brilliant servant. Long Live Didier!

"We will not be together next season," Drogba told France Football magazine.

"As I have decided to leave, I wanted to tell them (my team-mates) straight to their faces.

"Except that I could not do it. They made me break down.

"Even though it's been three years since I said I wanted to leave, I found it hard to admit that it was finished with me and the club.

"But I don't envisage sitting on the bench watching others play at a time when the club is looking at putting together a new team.

"So there we go, I am readying myself for a great leap into the unknown. It will be another adventure."

On the Graham Norton Show (not exactly the pinnacle of sport info I know) he said he was happy here and that he'd like to stay. I'm not giving up yet! Until I see it confirmed, he's still a Chels player!

"Unplayable on his day" is a bit clichéd but it sums up Drogba perfectly. Just when I'd started to think he was waning having struggled to find consistent form after getting malaria he goes and produces outstanding performances in key games.

It's probably the right time for him to leave, when he's not feeling motivated he's as counterproductive as he is brilliant at his best and a player like that deserves to leave on a high, rather than slowly becoming more and more of a fringe player, which seems to be what he's getting at.

Drogs has earned his place in the Chelsea Hall of Fame! 4th highest scorer of all time and all at the highest level! Whether or not he stays or goes should make no difference to us Blues. If he chooses to stay -BRILLIANT--If not , thanks for all you've done and good luck in China!

    Legend.

The good news is that now we can speculate which world class forward we'll get to replace him.
I hope the manager will build the team around Torres but we will still need another striker.

Maybe we could go for Adeybayor to sit on the bench with Modric.

Sky are reporting his agent as saying Didi did not say he was leaving.

Whatever he decides to do, may he always be the same Drogs who is definitely now a Chelsea all time great. ALWAYS came good in the big games, was the best of his type worldwide for several years, saved our bacon on numerous occasions, was frustrating and brilliant at the same time.
Off the pitch, not a hint of trouble that I ever heard about, and his charity work for his countrymen is legendary and extremely generous.
Hope you stay Drogs, but you will be a champion wherever you go.
