They've still not printed mine, maybe because I said something like ' even the red top tabloids would surely think twice before publishing such unsubstantiated rubbish as this' ?
I think all this attention on apparent outgoing Lambert and Holt is merely a smokescreen when next week we announce four new signings including Dani Pacheco
Taken from today's Sunday People: "Norwich boss Paul Lambert was convinced he was Lerner's No.1 target when Alex McLeish was sacked, but is worried now that interest seems to have cooled." "Tempted Lambert will monitor developments closely. The Scot is at loggerheads with the Norwich board over a lack of finances, which led to leading scorer Grant Holt putting in a transfer request this week." Well there you have it, Lambert is 'worried' he might not get the Villa job and is at 'loggerheads' with McNally over transfer funds. Strange, but for some reason there are no quotes from either Lambert, McNally or Holt in the article ? But it's in the paper so it must be true, right ? http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/news/
what i keep finding intriguing is this 'apparent' falling out with the norwich board over transfer funds. was he not told just the other day he'll have an additional £10m to spend this summer taking his pot to around the £20m mark? if that 'lowly' figure were to concern him, wait till he sees what villa are offering. i bet it isn't as much as that! honestly, its such a lame story the press keep on bashing out - there is and never has been any evidence to suggest lambert is unhappy with the norwich board - he normally says he's very happy and that they've often pushed the boat out for him. thats not to say he might not want to see what villa have to offer but the reasoning behind it is complete fabrication and is obviously made up to anyone who takes more than two minutes to think about it
Apart from Macca's short message there has been no official word on any of the shenanigans at the moment. We want to know, the media wants to know. So we discuss it wihtout a real clue and the media make up what they don't know. The silence is deafening I know but until we hear the real story we'll all have our speculation and as the season is finished theres nothing else of importance apart from Dave's Drinks Cabinet.
Have you checked the site, or taking this from twitter? I just checked and the odds are 1/4, although they were 1/3 10 minutes ago.
You can still bet on sky bet, but OGS is at 1/8 and Lambert has lengthened to 6/1. I really do think we've weathered this storm... Touch wood. Same again next year even so.
My concern would now be if Liverpool try and get Moyes (highly doubtful) and then Everton need a new boss. Realistically, they would be the one club we should be fearful of.
Is this the right moment to admit that I also turned down the Liverpool job? Anyone else done the same?
Yep. Apparently they share a twitter account, and he mentioned it on there about the Liverpool job. How many have turned it down now including DHCanary?
