Firstly i didn't say they had an amazing squad but a fine one. We are talking about a squad and having these players would enrich and add value to our squad. Although our first 11 is good, we literally have no one on the bench to come on. Im not saying Modric would replace Wilshere but he could play alongside. Rosicky or Arteta haven't done anything spectacular this season to keep out Modric in my opinion, although i would like to keep Arteta in the squad as he keep things ticking over. Are you comparing VDV with Crouch, really? Sandro couldn't get into our first 11 but he could definately do a job coming on as a defense mid sub. As for Adebayor, i said i would take him back if he didn't do that stupid thing!

Overall, Bale and Modric would walk into our first 11. Walker would give Sagna serious challenge. VDV and Ade would be impact subs and come on to change things and probably play regularly if the current 11 are not playing well. Sandro would be used to close the game off as a sub.

It would be hard to get any Spurs players to join because of the repercussions. I seriously doubt any of them will join Arsenal.

We have Pod so don't need to splash 20m+ on Bale, and I doubt Bale is better anyway. Modric is ok, but again we don't need to splash 20m+ when we have Arteta, Wilshere and Rosicky. VDV may be more what we need in AM to add competition and back-up for Rosicky, so I'd take him. Walker would never move to be second fiddle to Sagna. Sandro is a good player, but Song is probably better, and we already have decent backup in Coq and Frim. If we want a DM, we should get a bloody good one.

Spurs were fourth and didn’t win anything either, our squad isn’t strong at the moment but bringing these players you mentioned in wouldn’t strengthen it either.

So Spurs getting 4th place has automatically made the players i've highlighted rubbish? We were fortunate to get 3rd place and didn't win anything, does this make players like RVP, Sagna, Wilshere etc rubbish? We haven't won anything for 7 years now but it doesn't stop other teams coming in for our players - Cesc, Nasri have now won the league and Champions league....

You say some fans are delusional and we were lucky to scrape 3rd yet you ask us to look at a team that was lucky at the end to get 4th, the likes of Bale VDV wouldn’t not fit into our system and I don’t think either is special anyway, the only decent one is Modric and Wilshire in my opinion is already far better than him.
I have not seen players like VDV or Modric single handily win games against the big teams this season, granted Bale did it last season. But look at facts, against the likes of Chelsea, United and City Spurs have not done well this season, the fact that we destroyed them so comfortably while said players were on the pitch (despite us being so weak as you say) tells me there not going to improve our team. They won’t exactly be cheap either with Bale alone costing far more than 30mill. Say what you will about our squad being weak but I would rather that we went for some unheard of Gem like RVP was than some overhyped pre-Madonna’s like Bale, VDV and Modric.

All im hearing here is just anti-spurs sentiment. Bale has caught interest from the best club in world football, yet you think he's overhyped? Modric has interest from Chelsea and other top clubs. VDV plays for the dutch international team and played for Real Madrid. These are facts my friend.

By the way, this wasn't about actually going out there and buying any of their players, as our budget or desire won't allow it. This is about if you had the choice....

There's no point going for Bale at 30m when we've just signed Pod. Modric has interest, but Arteta/Wilshere are probably more suitable for our style in that position. Do we need to spend 30m on him? VDV would be cheaper and more useful as an alternative to Rosicky.

Look at Bales stats in Comparison to Walcott for example, if Barca were so interested in him then they would have gone for him like they did with Cesc so you have no grounds to this comment as its purely speculation. Chelsea don’t have Jack Wilshire in their midfield, we already have a player who is better than Modric so why would we want an older not as good version of Jack? Diaby when fit plays for the France squad and is better than VDV, Rosicky has been on fire towards the end of the season and again is better than VDV. VDV in fact does not get into the starting line-up as Sneijder is before him in the pecking order. Playing for Real does not make you a great player, just look at Pepe and Marcello for instance.
The facts you gave mean nothing as they don’t show the quality of the player, you just listed teams VDV played for and that Barca were (possibly) interested in Bale. And to Answer your question I honestly wouldn’t take any of them, there all the type of players that would throw their toys out of the pram as soon as things go wrong, I wouldn’t want them poisoning our dressing room.

Stop making yourself look stupid bloke ! Bale compared to Walcott ? Only an imbecile would choose Walcott over Bale. Stop your bias.

Modric is ok but I wouldn't have him in front of Rosicky, Arteta or Wilshere. VDV I would take in a heartbeat - I've always been a big fan of his. Bale is a top player who is wanted by the cream of Europe, how you can even debate this is beyond me.

really? i think it depends on the position. if you want crosses, bale, if you want goals, walcott. the stats prove it, and so does watching them play. they are completely different players, although they play in different parts of the pitch.

bale suits tottenham, walcott sort of suits arsenal.

Are you sh!tting me ? Stats is your argument ? It cannot be watching them because Walcott mostly does nothing in games whereas Bale smothers teams mostly.

    Bale - 36 league starts, 9 goals, 10 assists. Season stats, 48 starts, 15 goals, 16 assists.
    Walcott - 35 league starts, 8 goals, 8 assists. Season stats, 46 starts, 9 goals 11 assists.

Stats should ONLY be used to back up an argument, not form an argument. As you can see even using stats .. you don't win. Consider this also, Walcott played further forward for large parts of the season, more as a forward where Bale was a winger or midfielder - and he still scored and assisted more than Walcott.

Bale could play for Arsenal easily, the cream will always rise to the top.

I'd take Walker as a future replacement for Sagna & the sulky pikey, CaraVan Duh Fart, as an impact sub.

    The others are overrated.

I agree with Lazarus. It's strange how these Spurs players are now considered rubbish and no good. It's all well and good declaring this now the season is over but we weren't all saying this in 2011.

I think Spurs downfall has more to do with Harry and his over-reliance and burn out of certain players rather than the quality of them. Whether they fit into our system or not, I'd still have VDV, Modric, Bale, Walker and Kaboul if they were offered to me!

Bobby and, a lot of Spurs fans said this at the time, a lot of Spurs' problem was him changing their formation/tactics - when Lennon was dropped for some bizarre reason and Bale stopped being played as a winger - more of an AM. I dunno wtf Redknapp was thinking - it is this reason I feel we got 3rd from them.

That's pretty much it. I think Walker had played more games than nearly everyone else in the league by the end of the season. Other players like Kaboul, Modric etc weren't far behind.

Redknapp really needs to learn to rotate the squad. The rules say you're allowed to name a 25 man squad - use it!

If you guys don't want Bale, you can have Bentley for £5. How's that sound?
