I know mate, and I did too. but then I thought about it from the point of the players. They are humans, they have friends and it's a job. no different to the rest of us. - except what they do, is what we support. Therefore is affects us in a sort of domino affect. it's been hideous for me too, i've been on the receiving end of so much abuse over text and my facebook has been well and truly japed. tagged in all sorts of chelsea celebrations and parades, pictures, you name it! but **** it... we'll be back next year. The only reason why the gooners and the chavs get in our faces so much is because we're now a threat to them. - and they don't like it. it's great for football, and we're getting stronger. COYS!
Agreed, they are only human but then pay me £50k a week and I'd show a bit more loyalty to my employers - I'll even make the teas! . Join the abuse club, been a nightmare but it was to be expected if Chelsea won so I can't say I'm surprised. I've noticed the rise in abuse from Gooners and Chelsea fans too, a mate of mine made a really good comment about the pair of them - over the years, both have seen their ambitions/ aspirations decrease, from aiming to win the league, to aiming to qualify for Champions League and to now finish solely above Spurs. We may still be the "smaller" of the three but we're certainly the ones on the rise which is nice to know.
Looks like you're all reading too much into this. Surely it's just good sportsmanship to congratulate an opposing team on winning. That's all this was and recognition that Chelsea did what they had to do. Spurs did not.
I admit I was one to say to Saha to **** right off after reading his tweet (missed Defoe's one tho). As far as I see it, you can congratulate a player / team in private to them but to say well done to Chelsea but say nothing to show how gutted he is that he's missed out on CL just shows we are just another meal ticket to him. I don't expect him to feel our pain, but I damn expect him to show some grace. Toser didn't even back down like defoe with a made up excuse of being 'hacked'
Or they;re aware of a watertight legal challenge we're going to lob in UEFA's general direction this week...
Sorry, but their behaviour shows a not very high degree of thoughtfulness, or intelligence. I accept that players may see things differently, especially those two. But, surely you shoould have more common sense than to go onto a huge public site, such as Twitter, and congratulate the team that has just put your club - the one that pays your wages -out of a hugely important competition, like the CL. I'll bet they were absolutely amazed at the torrent of abuse that came back at them. Brainless!!
If that was true then you'll expect other players to do the same. Benny just said 'nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo' I'm sure Levy will fight it and had everything ready once we got forth knowing full well Chelsea this season are the most luckist side in the history of CL Reminds me of Greece winning the Euros. Ugly football, hardly any chances, out playered every game, yet win.
Most footballers aren't exactly smart are they! They tweeted these messages without even considering the consequences. Any footballer would know to stay well clear of social networks. The fans and press are all over them like a rash.
If they'd have both posted about their dissapointment first, there would've been less for us to be upset about. **** the big football picture - Spurs come first.
Is that actually Pienaar's Twitter page? Well done West Ham, well done Chelsea? Saha seems to be thinking about what he's posting, at least. He indicates a disappointment before congratulating Chelsea. I can't really fault that. Hard to argue with this, either: #bigmoney / Loyalty may suffer. We still have 2admit that billionaires won CL & PL this year. Sport v SportBusiness
