It appears Twitter is the new official form of handing in a transfer request. No loyalty! http://twitter.com/#!/louissaha08 http://twitter.com/#!/therealstevenpi
Can't access it on my iPad. I'm sure Pienaar will get his wish - if the price is right! It's a shame, because I think he would have made a good impact sub for us, once fit. Saha? well, good striker - when he's fit, which ain't too often. But, we can't afford to be losing any strikers until we've got good replacements.
They are not Tottnham fans. They work here. Honestly Flaspur, if you think players feel the same as us you are way off the mark.
Flaspur - where on there is a transfer request from Louis? All he says is congrats to the Chavs. Some muppet has a go back telling him to f**k off........ Maybe I missed something?
It seems I'm not the only one who feels a bit bitter about their congratulatory tweets... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ha-Steven-Pienaar-slammed-Tottenham-fans.html
Pienaar could have f*cked off ages ago for all I care. Utter useless for us. Get the £5m that's been touted by media outlets and get rid ASAP. Saha, he won't be here next season anyway will he? If they wanted to congratulate them, send their "friends" at Chelsea a text message, don't stick a message on a public forum where us Spurs fans - who are gutted at A) Losing our CL spot and B) Seeing one of our fierce rivals Chelsea win the best competition in club football by defending for 120 minutes - can view their thoughts on. Rant over
I don't understand why everyone's so irate about this. so many footballers are friends and know each other in the modern game, because there's no loyalty towards any club. they all move about all the time and therefore know each other! Congratulating a friend on something is no different to one of us saying "well done" to an ex colleague/friend who gets an amazing job promotion. we dont win trophies in our working lives, so that's the nearest thing in comparison.
Or is it like working for a company who have just lost a big contract to their rivals and you go public to tell the world what a good job they did, while the employees in your company wonder if they will lose their jobs?
Don't think we can really compare it to a job promotion Roo. Congratulating a friend on a promotion is one thing, congratulating a team, who are one of your fierce rivals and also happened to take the Champions Legaue spot your team has worked hard all season for is another. Lets not forget the implications of missing out on the Champions League too, financially, attracting players, seeing our players linked away and causing unrest in the dressing room... It was just a really bad day for us and then seeing their tweets certainly wasn't something we'd welcome on a day like that. I 100% agree there's no loyalty in football but at the same time a player(s) doesn't need to express their views on a public site which he knows (or should know) will upset the fans that pay his wages.
no it's nothing like that. It's more akin to me being a financial director and seeing another financial director do something astonishing but for a rival company and recognising that brilliance, since you're in the job too. Saha is a striker at the end of the day and a football fan. Anyway, why should he show any love to Spurs fans? you didn't exactly get out the welcome mat for him!
Sure, I wouldn't expect a financial director to understand the finer points of human relations but I would expect him to understand the consequences for the bottom line of the company that pays his wages.
yeah but SOS, you're looking at it like a fan. most of these players are all mates talking to one another! it upsets us, but they just don't think anything of it. the majority don't give a **** about anything other than the money, so writing a comment on twitter, is seen as something far less serious than it is to us. For most, it's just a job to them. twitter or a text message, doesn't make a difference. yeah it's not nice for us to have to see or hear, but these people live in a different world! twitter comments aren't going to stop any time soon either. it might annoy us, but at the end of the day they've said congratulations in a sporting manner, at the same time congratulated any friends they might have.
Nonsense, you know nothing about the welcome he got at Spurs. Twitter is utterly ridiculous and I don't know why players are still allowed to use it, it will always end up causing trouble like this. Similar to what SoS said, I don't expect them to love Spurs just because they signed for us but they should show a bit of respect.
I have to look at it like a fan though mate, otherwise it wouldn't be of interest to me. I've been in a foul mood since the final and hearing that two Spurs players congratulate a rival team at our expense really doesn't make things any better.
