Sunday, May 20th, 2012 The good people at World In Sport have unearthed what must be the most bizarre Euro 2012 advert to-date. Now TV, a Chinese broadcaster, have created a three minute anime video in which Euro 2012 is presented amid bloodshed and warfare in Europe. Complete with images of Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum bombed out and wrapped in flames, the video also shows soldiers firing live rounds as a match is being played on the pitch. It seems plain that Now TV have tried to align Euro 2012 with World War II imagery. Why they thought thatâs a good idea remains a mystery. I canât wait to see what uefa or FIFA have to say. Wow â Censorship is alive and kicking. The following link was still working at the time of posting for those yet to view. dFwC! Gracias TV España You can now view at
The Government in NZ rolls over to have its belly tickled by China at every opportunity so as not to upset a free trade deal. I wouldn't hold my breath expecting them to say anything during my lifetime against them but if a NZ Company was to run such an advert the Government would pull it so fast you'd have a lifetime rash as the Chinese would complain sighting stereotypical profiling or racism!
A nation who would kill your cat or dog if they did not like you (remember the cultural revolution) is not to be trusted
are they not saying smothing like europe is at war on the football pitch fighting each outhe for supremecy..... its all i could think of
Thanks mate, but more confused than I was before, If this is an ad promoting 2012 Euros, shudder to think, what theyd do if it was anti Euros. Mind boggles.
Studying advertising do a little bit of copywriting where I can. Not going to lie, I think that's got the building blocks for being a cracking, epic and well received advert. If done well that'd be a contender for a D&AD Pencil, One Show Pencil, Cannes Gold Lion or a Cleo (Oscars of advertising). It's art direction takes it over the top though and I don't why there's Chinese folk all over it. As it is it's ****ing ****.
