How time drags! I listen and read about the abject dross being linked to the Tigers and I despair. Greg who? Phil, you have to be tekkin the piss! It's a good job there is alot going on this summer. I have been shocked by how many football mates have no intersest in the Olympics; is this a commopn thing? Personally I love all the variety and excellence; chasing records that four years ago were seen as unbelievable - maybe bust since then, too. Anyway, enough of the Sunday well-pissed waffle - what sports in the olympics are you looking forward to - for whatever reason!
Well I am looking forward to the Olympics. Some local interest with the boxer Luke Campbell and Alex Smith hoping to be in the hammer. Maybe one of KUH's sprinters chosen for the relay. Unfortunately there are lots of talented kids around who don't get much publicity for their achievements because the sports news is dominated by football and rugby. There is a 17 year old girl who is at the moment top of the UK rankings for 3000m, got her first International Vest in Loughborough today.
I just like the Olympics ok ? It's not as if im going to watch the bits with horses,or them twats shooting clay pidgeons ? Husssssain Booooooooooooolt is pretty fit though !
I'm heading off to the eastern end of the Med while the Olympics are on. All I'll have is a few crates of KEO, fresh olives from my grove and the sound of crickets........heaven, not a medal ceremony in sight? Set the v box for the beach volleyball though, a man has to live.
The part of the olympics I am looking forward to is the closing ceremony. That can"t come quick enough.
Really don't understand anyone who doesn't want to watch the Olympics. I am quite patriotic and love watching the Olympics to see how well we can do. Do none of you enjoy watching the swimming and the rowing, Jess Ennis taking on all those other girls and doing better. I have great memories down the years of watching Coe and Ovett race together and Steve Redgrave getting his 5th gold. Kelly Holmes winning 2 golds in Sydney. Daly Thompson, what a fantastic sportsman he was. There is more to sport then football.
I like looking at Jessica Ennis I'll give you that... I agree that it's probably good for the country but I won't be watching, the whole things a yawn fest IMO.
I have actually got tickets for the quarter finals of football at Old Trafford on August 4th, quite looking forward to it. If things go as I think they will then it will be Brazil V Spain youngsters. You got to admit that could well be a very good game and tickets were only 20 quid not bad at all.
I am looking forward to the Olympics if only because it will be a great time to head in the opposite direction to a less crowded part of the country.
