Might have made it to the Premier a year earlier if we had someone else besides Sousa !!

It's all buts and maybes though, I don't think Sousa would have been the one to take us up even if he was allowed funds for another player. The relationship broke down before the transfer window so no way money would have been available. Besides as I said he lost the dressing room and dobbie went and so did Leon because of him.

I think it would have been too early for us myself, having the likes of scot sinclair and Neil taylor grow a season before going up was critical IMO . Dorus would have been between the sticks as well which might not have helped !especially when you compare him to Vorm!

He never had one transfer that amounted to anything with us , Huw was brilliant not to let him sign anyone else which made him leave to his ..... successful stint with the foxes Lol !! . Sh#t all over Britton , pushed Captain Monk on the pitch after a game , caused general discontent with all .... was sooooooooo happy when he left

Granted that there was rumours he wasnt backed by the board but its a load of bollox saying he would have done any better if he had (if that was the case) as he would have had PLENTY of backing at Leicester and lasted 3 months!!! Would never have been good enough to get us promoted IMO

He had to change the style of play at Leicster, that takes time, if you dont beleive me ask rodgers how he got on at Reading fc <ok>

Maybe your right anyway, but its all part of our History now and Sousa played a part in that History.

Which is one point of view, and obviously he will put in a way to favour himself, and the board will put in another way, and as mentioned down the middle is the truth.

If you're talking about Sousa's season then it was Doncaster on the last day. Sousa threw everything he had at them tactically and offensively but we couldn't it the side of a barn. Trundle scored in the last minute or so but handled in the process.

Never a fan of Sousa, mind numbingly boring football - forcing Leon out - but I have to admit that he did shore up our defence. But that said, for someone who undoubtedly commanded respect at the beginning because of the player he was, he soon lost the dressing room, have a read of Monks autobiography and you will see what some of the players thought of him. Remember gettin Curtis down for one of the fanzine fundraisers and when asked about Sousa all he was prepared to say was 'he was an odd bod!'.

But he was part of our recent history and an important part of where we are now (for good and bad reasons). But he always struck me as a bit of a primadonna - remember getting in touch with the Liberty after the season had ended and asked where he was 'wish we knew' was the reply. Apparently he just disappeared in a strop and didn't have the decency to tell anyone where he was or when he would be back. Know a few of our current players and they don't have much good to say about him - so make your own minds up. Don't believe he was the Devil incarnate as some paint him, but he did himself no favours with his conduct during, and after, his brief stay with the Swans! But his leaving paved the way for Brendan so all's well that ends well innit!!! <cheers>

i remember the game well and we had plenty of chances to score and blew every one !! it wasnt always about us being too defensive it was because we were **** in front of goal in that game !!

Yes I stand corrected Yankee it was indeed Doncaster, but Bristol did us the favour and won, and we couldn't beat old Donny, it was the cookie monster and all show!................. <laugh>

If trundle had played from the start as he was the only one who looked like he could score then we would have probably changed blackpool's history. it was because of that game that blackpool came from behind and pipped us for the last playoff place,....they went on to win it beating cardiff in the final.....so we are responsible for Blackpool's short experiance of premiership football...<ok>

Sousa was useless , end of !! Drove a wedge in all things SCFC . The way he was treating Britton I could have chocked him . I realize the forum is all about opinions & that's mine . Like I've said before , the difference between Rodgers or Martinez & Sousa is when they all retire & are watching a Swan's game , Rodgers & Martinez will be the only ones hoping for Swansea to win as they watch .
