I think you'll find I'm from the old school - you're just a newbie that needs to earn respect before making statements dissing the Sky You may not of heard - but people call me 'The Peoples Champion'.
True mate and whatever happens I will get behind the manager. Ultimately if the owners appoint the wrong man then it is them I will hold responsible. I'd never blame any manager for signing to be Liverpool manager, same as I didn't hold Woy ultimately responsible for being wrong man wrong time etc. It was the owners fault for employing him in the first place. Just out of interest, I've heard people say Martinez (for example) would at least try to play good attacking football, do you think AVB would bring free flowing football to Liverpool?
We all know the owners love stats. Well our worst points total since 1954 , Worst home win count since whenever, Lowest league goals for since whenever. In the American's eyes and many supporters there was no progress. Whoever comes in next season and finishes 5/6 only 7 points off fourth will not be sacked in my opinion as that will be a step forward. Kenny is the King always will be , but it didnt work for him this time.
Granted things were rough the last 3 months but had it not been for Kenny the points total the season before would have been far worse....possible relegation fodder under Woy let's not forget. Going into the Arsenal game we were still in with a shout of top 4 and we did get to TWO cup finals winning one. Kenny wasn't perfect but what if next years manager gets us 6th but no trophy? Will that be progress or just a year with no trophies?
Don't know. I didn't watch too much of Porto when he was there so I won't pretend to be an expert. He looked a bit negative with the Chavs but I do think he was on a hiding to nothing with them. Martinez seems to play an attractive type of game but maybe it's a bit too naive to succeed at the top? We can only wait and see. Although I was sad to see Kenny go I'm quite excited, if a bit nervous, about what's going to happen next. One thing you can say about following the reds, it's never dull.
I know what you're saying but I'm just guessing It's nice wining trophies but lets be totally honest ... do you think Utd, City, Chelsea would be happy with 8th place and the lesser of the two cups. Are Utd gutted they missed out on the coca cola cup ? , if Chelsea hadn't won big ears last night their season would've been a disaster and that's with the FA cup. Unfortunately you get more money coming 4th with no trophies than you do coming 8th with the baby cup. The owners are business men and more interested in the bottom line which is money.
I understand that and agree. No one's saying everything was rosy under Kenny I just think all this has set a massively dangerous precedent going forward. Liverpool are now a sacking club and I for one find that tough to get my head around. Off topic did anyone just watch the David Price fight? Potential to be the best British Heavyweight in a good while (and a good solid Red...literally).
