When he first came to Liverpool he was the dogs bollocks! 65 goals in 102 games. What has happened to this lad I have never seen anyone go downhill as fast as this guy has, and when it came for him to stand up and be counted he bottled out of the penalty shoot out (didn't take any of the first 5 ) leaving it instead to 2 defenders to do the business. Strange........

He's never been a penalty taker. Apart from that he had a decent game.

Succession of injuries knocked him, but he's actually a much better all round player now than he was at Liverpool.

Signs in the last few weeks of the goals returning as well, I wouldn't right him off just yet.

There was a massive story in Marca the other day that he would return to Athletico Madrid (along with €11million) in a swap for Radamel Falcao.

Sounds fantasist, but it's incredible how many of these Marca stories come off in the end!

Cole and Ashleys penaltys were two of the best you will ever see.

Not sure if he bottled. Looked like Dimatteo told him he wasn't taking one.

In my opinion, the only thing wrong with Torres is a shortage of confidence, and once he regains that he will be back to his best..

Ashley Cole is a superb penalty taker, always takes them for England in a shoot out.

All these players have only taken pens in shoot outs , and they have to take them because some world class C/F don't have the bottle to take them

Her has scored every penalty he has taken in his career with aplomb, including last nights under immense pressure.

He's a confident lad, and he'll have been one of the first with his hand up.

Torres missed a few for Liverpool, even when on form, it's not his forte.

A lot of the worlds best penalty takers are not forwards.

Why was Terry wearing a strip at the cup presentation?, seems strange as he was wearing a shirt and tie at the start, he deserves to lift the cup though.

He deserves a kick in the teeth more like.

He nearly cost them big time, leading by example and volleying a Barca player up the arse.

I'll give him credit for being a great player for Chelsea over the years though, so I guess you're probs right.

Didnt Messi take one in the semi finals and missed, Ronaldo took one for Real and Missed, Gomez took one last night and missed Matta took one and missed.

Lahm took one and scored, Neuer took one and scored, Cole took one and scored etc etc.

I really think you are making too much out of Torres not taking one, He was probably 6th in line, tbh i would rather take one of the 1st 3, as the pressure wont be anywhere near that of 4th-11th.

Just like that Paraguyan goalie a decade ago who was awesome at taking free kicks. He was also their captain, ill google his name later.

Edit: Chilavert. Also took penalties. Scored 62 goals in his career.
