My friend Grace brought a packet of peanuts into the clock end for the Spuds game - does that count ?

Apparently the Met Police Band used to march around Highbury and the bandmaster used to throw his baton in the air in front of the four stands <whistle>

  9. Interesting that COYG did the same thing today but it did not draw any comment from you. Your double standards here are pretty clear for all to see.

    LOOOOL.

Loads of people don't go to games - as if going to games is some barometer for being a fan. <doh>

Keyboard warrior ? Bothered mate. Like I said, you will never feel ARSENAL like I do, its in my blood, you can go to a million games you still wouldn't feel it. You never had school cup finals on Highbury's pitch. You never had Arsenal scouts working with you in the community and taking you on their indoor practice pitch at Highbury. You never played football with Arsenal schoolboys in school. You never had to cower in Harvest Estate, 6 Acres or Andover estate when football football fans were running riot outside your doorstep. You wouldn't know about Greeks and the Turks in the manor having aggro because some are spurs fans and some Arsenal.

You go to games .. but you only know Arsenal the football team, there is far more to Arsenal than having a season ticket, but you wouldn't know ... being an out of towner.

Thats right South Londoner, proper fans, fans that are ACTUALLY affected by the club, but you wouldn't know anything about that in Crystal Palace.

When Arsenal go on open top parades to the town hall, its my town hall, Islington. Islington North is the constituency <ok>

What Arsenal does affects me directly. My parking permit allows me to park in permit holder bays on match days - you can't <ok>

You think that living in Holloway, but not going to the games makes you a 'proper fan' <doh>

Cym is right. If our support was left to the likes of you, Arsenal would be playing in an empty stadium every week.

In my book, a 'proper fan' is someone who makes the effort to actually go and support their team, not a wannabe who just happens to live nearby <ok>

Think I've been to the Emirates 3 times?
Born & raised in Sheffield, I follow Sheffield United as well as Arsenal, now living in Liverpool after a string in North Wales, I've never lived in London.

I don't have the money to go to games, nor the time right now as work & the missus takes up most of my time.

Doesn't really bother me if people think I'm a "real" fan or not, there are more important things in my life than Football. I enjoy it as a Sport, and yeah, it affects my mood, but I keep it in context.

Kinda glad I missed out on that Turkish / Greek thing though, I'd rather not have to cower anywhere thanks. Growing up in the Peak District, the worst we had to deal with were herds of cows that broke out of their field - and that was pretty scary!!
