This is the worst possible thing. Ashley Cole left Arsenal to win things - he has now won the lot. Samir Nasri left us to win things - he won the league. How fcuking depressing.
This is 100% correct. If tonight has any influence in waking up Wenger apologists then we can at least make even more of a bad situation. The most sickening thing for me this season has been listening to the complete crap posted about how we are doing brilliantly by finishing 3rd and 4th each year, whilst winning **** all. Chelsea - ****ing Chelsea - just won the CL and an FA Cup with a team that simply is not that good, whilst our team has all the talent they need, but just choke at the slightest thought of pressure. Our expectations should be higher and we should demand that Wenger sorts it out or ****s off.
We aint even title contenders mate. We are a million miles off chelsea (will be next year for sure), city and united. We know what you need to win the premier league. Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, Freddie, Vieria, Gilberto, Cole, Campbell, Lehmann, Toure.....I mean all those players were UTTERLY EXCEPTIONAL. Now we have to make do with average players like song and walcott. Song isnt fit to lace Vieria or gilbertos boots and he is one of our better players. Walcott is so inferior to freddie. One is world class, one is just average...completely average. We had players who were world famous for being amazing. Who set the international stage alight. Who were feared by ALL SIDES. Even man united parked the bus vs us. Not anymore. We now have rubbish and sides attack us cos we suck so badly. We have to content ourselves with being like spuds now. We are never going to catch the big boys. Not for a while at least
Lol. A.Calm down. B.There is no set criteria that someone needs to meet to be a proper fan. Maybe, he just does not simply give a **** about other teams, especially Chelsea and only cares about Arsenal. Wilshere on twitter has been cheering on Chelsea all night and he has been an Arsenal player since he was 10. People are different and have different outlooks.
Fake fans coz we dont cry like babies when another team wins something and we dont ? If thats the case you must have been crying for the last 7 years. You better get a good supply of tissues coz it may be a while till we win anything. Chelsea won , by luck or otherwise. Good luck to them. Get over it . How old are you guys , seriously ? No really , how old are you ?
It's basically what you consider to be the lesser of two evils. I personally would have rather Chelsea won the Champions League than Tottenham creep into the Champions League next year, especially after all their gloating this year, so it's hilarious to see them fail. Chelsea winning is lame, but it's not the end of the world. Something tells me you'd have been suicidal tonight whatever happened by your ridiculously over the top reaction to Chelsea winning it... I think a lot of people will remember how much they spent in all honesty. I'm not exactly happy with "mediocrity", I would just rather we didn't have an Arsenal TEAM win a trophy than a bunch of mercenaries. This doesn't mean I don't think we should spend money, of course we need to, but not the ridiculous amounts City and Chelsea have spent. The FA Cup USED to mean something for sure, but nowadays you can't tell me teams go into the season desperate to win it. It'd be cool to win it, but it's hardly something to gloat about when not many teams care about it any more. I would much rather finish in the Champions League spots and not win the FA Cup than win it and not finish in the Champions League spots.
Exactly. We are happy getting 3rd and 4th while Chelsea with a team we beat 3-5 at the Bridge are winning FA Cups and Champion's Leagues !
Dude, every Arsenal fan, to a man, wanted us to win the bloody Carling cup, the Carling Cup !!!! So your suggestion that the FA Cup "used" to mean something is way off the mark. What is the point in us qualifying for the CL when we can't win the thing. I'd rather we win trophies than qualifying for the CL .. at this point !
For the record I do agree it's about time we start spending BUT I still feel its the board who is responsible wengers task is to name the targets its gazidis to negotiate for them. I feel we should sell rvp and spend ALL the money on a proven striker and others. I know I'll come in for a lot of stick for this but even if we don't win the title next year I see us competing for it.
Chelsea did actually eclipse us in the Mourinho years, IMO we were clinging onto our success from the early Wenger years and before when we came into arguments with Chelsea fans. The worst thing is, we finally manage to finish above them for the first time since the Invincibles season and yet they win the Champions League. I hope we get our hands on that trophy one day...we can at least claim that we didn't have to throw £500m+ to win it. I think Chelsea sort of deserved sportingwise after being unlucky in 08 and getting robbed by UEFAlona in 09.
They need to let that russian dude put some cash into arsenal. Who gives a fck about running ourselves as a business? What good is it to have a strong balance sheet when you win fck all.
Waste of time now mate. Whats the use spending now? Its too late. We dont have city or chelseas money to buy a whole new team. We have to build a team and keep topping it up with talent to never let the side fall down. Wenger failed to do this and the result is the whole team has evaporated and now it is hardly worth spending unless we can spend £200m
Exactly . when we win something it will be thouroughly deserved . Not by ridiculous luck or simply by throwing half a billion quid at it. Thats why im not bothered about city winning the league. Its not earned, its bought . and by definition ....not valid or credible. Let em have their silver , they paid enough cash for it. We dont play that game and im proud we dont.
Well then you're a cretin. If we won the Carling Cup and didn't get in the CL, everyone would leave. You think players join top teams to win ****ty secondary trophies like the FA Cup and Carling Cup? Does the criticism the spuds chuck at us for not winning a trophy in 7 years really hurt you that much you'd risk a Champions League place and therefore any future our club has JUST so we can say we won the Carling Cup? Grow up.
Jack Wilshere is a West Ham fan living born and raised in Stevenage. No West Ham fan in the universe should/would want Chelsea to win. this is EXACTLY what I am talking about. some people just don't get the rivalry when they are out of towners
Not at all. when Chelsea were doing things Arsenal have done already, it didn't bother me. But this, THIS !!! Mamma mia !
Football isnt a financially fair sport. We have more money than most clubs so we can hardly moan. i dont care if city got their money from oil or from plastic fans in korea (like united). it doesnt matter to be hoenst. The "Fair play" rules will just engrain UNFAIRNESS in the system by solidifying the top sides and giving them a monoploy on money and success. Although it is necessary to avoid the completely bankruptcy of football due to spiralling wages.
Like I said provided we do spend I don't see us being that far away from a title winning team. We must however channel, all our resources this summer AND crucially wenger MUST be ruthless. Something he is guilty of shying away from. A creative midfielder, a top class striker and a utility player (I feel M'vila is in the bag) and we are sorted. After all in terms of quality we aren't far off Manu IMO
Agree with your assessment!! Has Wenger taken Arsenal as far as he can or is he hamstrung by the powers that be in the boardroom? Tonight we witnessed how far a good coach and organisation can take an average team!! Hopefully S Bould's appointment can make a difference to the defensive capablitiies of your team.
Not valid or credible ? Really ? Tell that to the 200,000 that lined the street for their open top parade.
