Can Guardiola be tempted.??

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by LuisDiazgamechanger, May 18, 2012.

  1. Whats that matter...? International managers nowadays play more games against lesser opposition. plus, International football is very different to the domestic game, hence the top managers not always doing well when takin charge of a nation.

Capello's domestic record is second to none so certainly qualifies for the job. Unfortunately his age works against him. Can't say I am overly keen on his style either.

Guardiola only knows how to play football one way, which is fine if you have a team full of world class ball players. Although even that failed against a very determined PL team. How in any shape or form would he be any good at all at a club like Liverpool.

Mourinho I could understand but Guardiola. <doh>

  3. Hate to say it but I partly agree with you about Guardiola but wouldn't use the words 'only knows' since he has only been in that situation. There is only one way he can prove to be good in an alternative situation...

Fair enough but he would be on a steep learning curve. We had the experience of Ramos who had done very well in Spain but it became apparent very soon that he had not a clue about the PL. The only time Spurs did well with him running things was against the class ball playing teams. Put him up against Stoke or Bolton or even Liverpool who were using 'strong' tactics at the time and he did not have a clue what was going on.

It's been suggested on twitter 3years of Capello with Carragher apprenticing under him & named as the provisional successor? What do you think?

I think it's going to be Martinez but this combo is interesting.

  6. Has Clarke actually left the club or not...? He is still down as a first team coach on the Liverpool website but they have removed Kenny. If Clarke remains, how would he fit into the partnership of Capello and Carragher...? Would Carragher carry on as a player too? If so, what would he learn from Capello when he is on the pitch (hopefully not too much)...?

Martinez could go one of two ways, he could settle like a duck to water or sink like a stone. IMO, it is a fairly big risk that is not needed at this time. Capello would be a safer option. However, whoever is appointed will get my 100% regardless.

Clarke handed in his resignation after Kenny was fired, but it was rejected. I guess they want to keep him in until they find a replacement

  8. Okay, cheers. I hope whoever is chosen decides to keep him as part of the coaching team, if not as assistant manager.

    Never ever ever.

Chance are you are not going to attract a first class name like Pep, Capello, Mourniho etc.....

Even Rodgers turned you down, you need a young fresh manager who has still got stuff to learn but has also made an impact already at his current club.

In essence you need Steve Kean!

Rodgers didn't turn the job down; he turned the interview down. Said if directly offered job he'd take it but didn't want to go to interview not being first choice, not get it & look disloyal to Swansea & have to come back.

    Fair play to him.

Sure I wont lose any sleep over it.

Anyway, wouldnt wish Steve Kean on anyone but I am making a bit of a joke out of Keans comments in the video and Liverpools season. If you were clever enough you would figure out the link.
