Now don't get serious, just for fun.....

After reading the Fletcher won't come thread, a lot seemed to be a bit defensive on the merits and beauty of life in Sunderland and surrounding area's........

We all have the added advantage of knowing the area, where-as players arriving probably don't......

So if you were blessed with the skill and managed to play for the club, where would you live?

Would you take into consideration of commuting time, nightlife, resturants and location....

So where would be your place to relax after a hard day's kicking a ball about?

    ..................................................................................

For me, it would be a house on the Roker or Seaburn sea front...Or maybe one of them nice big houses in Cleadon or Whitburn...

I nearly moved into of those Syd, about 5 years back, they are beautifully done.

Unobstructed, and I mean unobstructed sea views, fantastic.

That sounds like a bargain, they were £249,000 at the time, I went for Newcastle quayside instead.

I will retire somewhere hot, ideally California, depending on how life pans out from here..

Seems crazily cheap Comm, prime location, 10 mins drive into town, 5 mins to Morrison's, walking distance to SOL, restaurants and bars around (decent ones on Roker corner), chippy, booze buster all local.

    I'd be tempted myself mate!

I keep looking at it and dream, my last house sold for £450,000 around 11 years ago now I cant afford a caravan on the links.

I still dream of Paphos and still intend to go there, I will be renting but can get a very good place for £400 a month, that I can afford.

Probably less now mate, rents will be tumbling.

I got sent a list of reposessed stock from Cyprus the other day, villas, cars etc, it was incredible.

    Best example was a 2009 Porsche Cayenne, 9000km, €14,000.

There's basically a firesale on the island, such as shame, as it's a beautiful place, and they are great people.

Even here in supposedly bulletproof Andalucia, there's a lot of people struggling, not quite falling off.

    Mad world right now.

€400 for a villa is insane, we play 3 times that for an apartment!

    I'd be half tempted myself...

But this is what i was getting at in the OP.....if your playing for SAFC, a young lad with money...

The location and everything seems perfect.

When I started looking at long term rents, a villa like the one I have posted would be around 750 a month, 411 now. A 2 bed apartment they are giving away and its an apartment we looked at, could not afford a villa but now.

We could go halves mate, little bolthole for visits!

Syd can rent while we're away!

    Syd,

There's villa's here in the less desireable parts for as little as €900 a month.

These people have mortgages 3 or 4 times that from the boom, fortunately, they all live in Madrid, so it doesn't effect us here!
