As much information as we're likely to get. david mcnally ‏@davidmcnally62 We did receive a transfer request from Grant Holt yesterday. It was rejected immediately.
Told us nothing specific but you have to assume its a contract issue due to his emphasis on explain the contract offering procedure of the club.
sounds like holt's agent has jumped the gun a bit going by mcnally's tweets! i hope he doesn't regret it
as i mentioned in an earlier post, this is not about the money specifically - its about ending his career at norwich and the security it brings. he wants to be given an extension to his deal but the club haven't done anything about it. the important word to add at the end of that sentence is YET. agent has jumped the gun, probably getting frustrated at it taking so long
He can't exactly explain the reasons why the request was handed in, the only we he can do it is to remind us of the procedures with contract talks. This means it's definitely to do with contract and the that Holt wants a new contract is a good thing? Agree about agent, bit rash, but I'm sure if all gets resolved it will be business as normal.
McNallys just following due process NCFC sort out the players that are leaving, then the ones that are going to get new deals, then the negotiation of any existing deals Surelt that makes sense, you want to give the guys that are leaving the maximum ammount of time to get new deals elsewhere Agents jumped the gun, thats my money.
yes, things are much clearer now i think. thank god for mcnally! its great that he's so forthcoming with information. not many CEO's do that.
I think the meeting of players and representatives was our players dave! I also want to see a him explain PL's situation!
david mcnally ‏@davidmcnally62 We have not had an argument or row with any player, including Grant. The club is very grateful to all of the players for another great year. --- david mcnally ‏@davidmcnally62 I repeat, no new deal has been discussed with any in contract player, including Grant. The figures in the Sun article are wildly inaccurate. --- david mcnally ‏@davidmcnally62 The most important activity currently underway at NCFC is Adam Drury's testimonial on tuesday. Please buy a ticket. Please RT does anyone know what the sun said? i don't read that piece of ****e
If as now seems likely this is because Holt wants to finish his career here or at least have a longer contract how does that make people feel towards Holt. In some ways it seems he loves the club and is desperate to stay, then again he is trying to force the clubs hand one way or another and this is not good. Overall I would say if this is the case it will mostly be forgiven although I would say the handing in of a transfer request was very ill-advised. I imagine it will be a crazy week or two then everything will settle down and he will be here come next season. Be interesting to know how much of this fiasco was instigated by Holt or if it was largely due to his agent.
Handling the situation like a boss... david mcnally ‏@davidmcnally62 If you believe the Sun, we are 'plunged into chaos'. On the contrary, we are very relaxed with managing the end of season activities.
i'd suggest he has been very badly advised, if indeed it was even he who handed in the request. it was confirmed yesterday by someone (can't remember who - sorry) that an agent can do this without the player
I think Holt probably wanted to talk about a new deal and we rejected. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...triker-could-leave-Norwich-over-wage-row.html That's the Sun article. If it is about contract than and that's untrue it has to be the fact Holt wanted to talk about a new contract and we said no because what McNally says about the dealing with out of contract players first.
