I think the media like to have a dig at everyone. You always see Newcastle, Spurs, Chelsea, Utd and Liverpool fans complaining about biased media and press. Doesn't bother me really, I don't buy papers anyway. Didn't take long to jump on Hodgeson's back for his team selection and the whole Rio/Terry conundrum.

I think I saw somewhere that Liverpool shirts are the 4th biggest seller in the world only behind Madrid, Barca & United. Would suggest that Chelsea don't have quite as many fans.

Think it was on the BBC footy homepage when it was revealed Utd were the biggest and they couldn't wait to tell us.

My childhood memories are of Liverpool winning everything, but all the papers would start each season by running stories of how this year was going to be United year, and it was that frustration that made me hate the mancs, Liverpool were unstoppable, but we had 26 years of undeserved manc adulation. And when the mancs stopped us from getting the treble, oh there was journalistic jizz all over the papers. Then for the last 20 years, it has still be manc press, and we've been "has beens" and sleeping giants, but I don't recall it being "our year" at any point in the last 20, well not before the season started.

Team has been in decline obviously. However if you travel around the country you'll still mainly come accross Man utd and Liverpool supporters. It is still only these two that have a huge nationwide support (let alone global). I live in south wales (Lived in Liverpool for 6 years btw) and it is extremely rare to come across a Chelsea, Man City, Spurs or even Arsenal fan. So theres no doubt in my mind that these are still the two biggest clubs in the country by some distance.

We may be behind the artificially big clubs for a few years but long run, when the billionaires decide they dont want to prop up their clubs for the rest of their lives losing hundreds of millions (probably over a billion in Man Citys case) they will fall away, probably into administration and relegation. I fear for them more than I do us.

Liverpool are in rapid decline and have been for some time, the new owners dont have much of an idea at running a football club and I cant see top 4 ever being viable again without a Cityesque investment.

Dont see why not with the right manager. After Chelsea and Man City i imagine we'll be next biggest spenders this summer. Spurs went from relegation candidates to top 4 in space of a year under Harry Redknapp so it can be done.

Lets face it other than Man City and Man utd the standard has been pretty poor last year and I cant really see Arsenal, Spurs or Newcastle improving alot, in fact I would expect them to be poorer if RVP and Modric move, so they are there for the taking. All depends on getting the right man in and getting off to a good start next season. Not saying we'll challenge for the league because I dont think anybody is good enough to challenge Man u and Man city at the moment but no reason why we cant finish above relatively poor Chelsea and Arsenal sides and over acheiving Spurs and Newcastle sides if we have a good season.

If, as you say, we have been in rapid decline for some time- don't you think we'd be rather lower than 8th?
    Try again.

"LIVERPOOL ARE IN RAPID DECLINE AND HAVE BEEN FOR SOME TIME" So are we in slow decline or fast decline? Typical yid dickhead, thinks they'll win the league no doubt <doh> And is it me or is Gareth Bale the missing link between man and monkies?

Spurs finished 20 points behind City and you call that a title challenge.

Poorly informed?,So Spurs never finished 20pts?

Only Utd challenged City for the title.

We won't get the chance to get used to it. We'll just have to rely on you to tell us what it's like year, after year, after ...........

I'm out of my depth here, I'm not used to sloshing about in the mud. I like to have some clear water beneath me, 17 points will do for now.

    Cheers <ok>
