This thread is for interesting facts about yourself, and everything else. Did you know that I used to hate football before I was 8 (6 years ago), and didn't know anything about it, like that you play home and away matches.

Did you know.......................that in the 97/98 and 98/99 seasons my dad would only take me to the Watford games If I went with him to see Saracens play. Even though I hated Rugby I did this as it meant I got to see the mighty 'Orns!!!

Me, my dad and my half brother all went to Twickinham for the 1998 cup final between Saracens and Wasps. Jason Leonard was sat behind me and was chatting to me, being friendly etc, I had no idea who he was, I just couldn't get over how big his thighs were! (each thigh was bigger than both of mine put together!). It wasn't untill my half brother clocked on that I realised that an England international was sat behind me talking to me!! For those of you who dont know, Jason Leonard is the most capped England Rubgy Union player ever. Saracens won the game by the way.

Did you know..................That before I became a Watford fan I went to one of these Watford soccer school things that they used to do for kids in the summer. This was in the summer of 1995 at a school in Leighton Buzzard. At the end of the 2 week course, I had my photo taken with Luther Blissett with him handing me some small plastic award. At the time I didn't have a clue who he was, I didn't even know he was an ex footballer!!! (I still have that photo)

Also, when I first started to take an interest in football (When I was about 9) I thought that only the away side got the point if the game ended in a draw!!! LOL

And finally, my son was born in Watford General!!!

Did you know that when i was little i supported Chelsea because i liked the colour blue and everyone else supported Chelsea, and then when i was 9 i went on holiday and met a boy from Manchester who supported United so i changed to United for a few years, til i saw the light, through a friend at school who was a huge Watford fan...thank goodness!

Did you know that my dad was brought up in L*t*n during the war, and had he had any interest in football, i might have ended up a L*t*n supporter!

Did you know that my youngest was born in Watford general, the other two in Northwick Park coz we lived in Stanmore at the time!

Oh, and did you know that my brother lives opposite the ground and isn't allowed to move coz i park on his driveway on match days ;)

Is Luton really that bad a place? I've heard it referred to as the Capital of Pakistan but wasn't aware it was a really bad place.

well, between you, me and the gatepost, i have some amazingly happy childhood memories from there, but that's because my dad's uncle and aunt lived there and we loved going there, they were amazing...but outside of their 2 up 2 down with a toilet in the garden, the place was run down and miserable, and it hasn't changed much by all accounts..

Not a million miles away from you either is it? Was in Hatfield for a while a number of years ago and quite liked it there.

So what's happening in your neck of the woods now that there's no football?

Got to catch up on visiting relations myself. Went to all the home and away games during the season so have quite a bit of catching up to do. My sisters dog misses me most of course.

Ive been to Iraq and Afghan, and I found those two places less hostile and more friendly/welcoming than Luton. These days Luton is the home/headquarters of the EDL and Bury Park is strictly a Muslim only area (you can probably guess the amount of tension this causes)

It has changed a bit. The toilets in the garden have gone - they were all replaced by one large outdoor toilet. ;)

Did you know that the Eastern Brown Snake from Australia is the second most deadly land snake in the world? Its bite is fatal in approx 35% of cases and death can occur within 3-4 hours if not treated.

I was bitten by one whilst working in the Queensland bush, around 250 miles from the nearest hospital that stored the required antivenine, and 100 miles from the nearest phone - no mobile phones back then.

I owe my life to a sheath knife, a tyre lever, an old shirt and a Willys Jeep.

Did you know I once met the Beatles in Woolworths in Borehamwood and still have all their autographs

Did you know as a Hobby I write Murders for Dinner Parties from 6 characters to usually 12 or 14, though I did write one for our wedding anniversary once when we had a do in the garden that had 24 parts to it. I've also written several interactive murders for large parties.

Did you know.... I was an extra in a Jane Asher film that they filmed at Bushey Hall School when I was a pupil there!

Did you know... That I have the same name as an ex-Watford player, and I once served my name-sake in M&S. I didn't realise it was him until I saw his name on the credit card!

Did you know... My Dad considered me too young to go to the '84 FA Cup, so I was left at home with my Mum, recording it. In those days, they followed the team for the whole day, filming the club coach as it drives to Wembley - I still remember the Watford badge on the roof of the coach! I started going after that season, and was there for the '87 semi!

Did you know..I was a mascot for the home game v Sheffield Wednesday on 2/5/81 (I still have my Paddington Bear). In those days, mascots were only supposed to be 5 to 7 years old, but this was just under 4 months after my 8th birthday, so I had to pretend that my birthday was in June. Then on 29/10/05 my boys were mascots at home to Wolves - I still have the programme and they still have their plaques. The results were 2-1 to us when I was mascot, and 3-1 to us when the boys were.

Oooh, did you know that a black mamba is so called because, despite it being pink, it has a black tongue. And did you know it takes 10 minutes to die from it's bite, and when i saw one, just 10 feet away from me while wandering through ruins in Kenya, the nearest hospital was 20 minutes away!

I wish i'd known that before, i'm arranging a Murder Mystery evening in November for my synagogue lol...darn it, all sorted now lol

Did you know my old Dad used to take me to the Arsenal when I was little and used to sit me on a barrier on the North Bank. When I was older I used to go to Watford on the bus one week and to the Arsenal the next week if we were visiting my mums folks at The Archway. My old dad stopped going and I carried on going to Watford on the bus.

I hate snakes..the sight of them gives one of BB jeeps!

IN 1980 I was sitting in LAX waiting for a flight to Grand Junction in Colorado when all these Rock types started arriving - eventually Sting turned up with his little wearing Mickey Mouse ears. I had a quick 10 minutes chatting with them, whilst the septics walked past not even recognising The Police.

It seems the world is full of people who claim to have gone to the first Sex Pistols gig at a pub in Kings Cross - well I was the person that could not be bothered to go. I knew a couple of top goners who were mates with Jimmy Lydon and asked me to pop along as I was in London visit my then girlfriend - that is another story!

Did you know - I've lived in Tokyo, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico.

Did you know - It's my old man's fault that I support Watford. I was also born next to the Vic.

Did you know - When we were in the Prem the first time, I cancelled my season ticket as I didn't think I would be in England, it still came through in the post and I got my money back on my card and a free season ticket in the post that worked all season ! <magic>

Did you know - that my PE teacher, Mr Barrett, had no time for football. He told us that if we had to go to football matches we should at least go to Arsenal rather than Watford.
