Oh I see now, Simon Thomas is actually grant holts off duty name I get it You believe everything you're told? Time will tell who's right beefy and I'll be back when he signs for another club but then again he won't be signing for anyone else will he?? That's as deluded as when warnock told u's Barton was a football player
When he doesn't sign fort a new club I won't come and find you. because I couldn't care less about you or your small club. Mockney.
Charlie Wyett Sun reporter and Norwich fan said that he think it's contract problems. He is on 16k a week and wants more, in a way he has a point when there are ****e players on 30k+ He think he will be playing for us next year, and I know he is a Sun reporter but to be fair to him he was the one who said Whitbread isn't to be here next season and 2 months ago now. He also said Grant loves the club and the area around it. Obviously pure speculation but is he is right than maybe some good news.
The contracts angle totally makes sense. Do you remember what we found about before Blackburn game about Alby's contact?
Yes, I mentioned that to big man today and said it was fairly obvious that meant he was going to leave.
Bet he was beyond himself, close to tears even! On twitter some Leicester fans think they're going to get him...Hmmmm I hear Cowdenbeath are lining up a bid.
When he found out about Grant he came back and said "I feel as though I've been divorced", cracked me up
How many goals this season? 17 If I scored that many goals and you have stayed up easily... I would want a pay rise if he's only on 16 grand. I know KJ at Stoke is on 35/40 grand a week grand and spent most of it on the bench. It's either a contract issue or, Holt fancies his chances elswhere. But at his age WHY would he do that? He fits your'e system, it works and he will continue to do that with Norwich City. Well done great season for Norwich City.
Well! Not quite what I was expecting to see this morning. The only thing I didn't find surprising is all the vermin from two particular clubs climb all over the story like a bloody rash, oh and ColU dick of course with his unique brand of doom mongering . (and there I was starting to believe what QPR fans keep saying - they have no interest in Norwich City - yeah right! Nearly as obsessed as the ITFC rabble ) Not sure what to say other than let's see what happens in the coming weeks. Naturally I would like Holt to stay with us but if his wage demands (as it appears to be about this, and this only) are too high then sell him to the highest bidder, £5m + should be fairly easily achieved I would have thought, then we can get another hungry striker in, possibly two if the money is right for the sale of Holt.
Probably not,but looking in the right direction. There are probably up and coming strikers in the lower divisions who could do the job, maybe not as well as Holt but many seem able to make the step up.I thought Le Fondre looked an obvious case for ages and I was amazed that it was solong before he got snapped up.OTOH if Holt would settle for anything up to double pay I say....Give'im the money Barney
all seems a bit sad last year he was showing a T shirt proclaiming his rise through the ranks, I would have thought at the age of 31 he would be happy to have a couple of more years at the top table with a club where he will play...... funny how quickly one forgets the humble roots... thanks Holty you have been a star and given me many great days hope it all goes well for you, I still hope you stay because you are great but you lit the fuse so heaven knows what happens next
Sticks in the throat a bit this. Norwich rescued Holt from the oblivion of lower league football. Have paid him well, us fans have worshipped him, three time player of the season then he goes and does this with no ****ing explanation ! It's not good form to say the least and I would have expected some kind of statement from him, I think we as fans deserve that at the very least. Total lack of respect for us if you ask me. If he genuinely wants a move there really is no point trying to keep hold of him as it WILL upset the whole ethos that PL has built here. So, in a nutshell, thanks for the memories Holty but you really could have given us some deserved respect with some kind of statement
It's unfortunately the one downside of Lambert's policy. I don't think you can blame Holt, who hasn't made crazy money throughout his career, for wanting to double his dough. If the club give in then it'll give the other main players a reason to want more too so I think the best option is to cash in and spend it on Rhodes, if he'll come, or someone else though there's not a lot out there. Butterfield maybe.
I do not think it's his policy, more a club policy, but I take your point. We could easily become victims of our own relative success or become the architects of our own undoing unless we pay better money for better players. Without the better players then Championship football is more than likely to return to Carrow Road at some point in the near future.
