Since the last one got shut down... What I was about to ask is how much do you reckon we'd get for Holt? I await the usual smart responses.
You'd better stand by dave I can hear the rumble of every cockney, mockney and binner hurtling this way
It's difficult because of his age and experience. Personally 15 goals 31 year old Englishman and a talisman I would value him at £6 Million But I think McNally will hold out for a LOT more
£4-8m if you look at the mackem/toon board threads Them, everton, villa and spurs are the usual suspects
As much as I'd hate to lose him I'd rather get some money then have a annoyed player who doesn't want to be here.
I don't like to speculate on what may have happened with Holt, but does anyone else think it does seem quite impulsive? He was doing interview earlier for Canary Player, he was due to do interview for Radio Norfolk today, he was saying in media about wanting Lambert to stay too. I may be completely off the mark.
Completely agree with you mate, I don't think Grant went to bed last night with this on his mind, something odd/bad happened today... Sent from my Android using Tapatalk
Holt doesn't strike me as the type of person who would suddenly changes his mind, so I can't imagine his agent changing his mind in a matter of hours there must be a personal reason or a bust up of some kind. Not going to read into though as it'll drive you mad.
I reckon £4/5m tops, he is 31 after all and would still be a bit of a gamble for another Premiership club. I can see Sunderland and Everton being favourites, probably the Mackems in the driving seat as MON would absolutely love Holty and I'm sure the feeling would be mutual. Also, I tried posting this on the original thread before realising it was closed so thought I might as well copy n paste: People have speculated that this might be something to do with Wilbrahimovic being released, which is actually barmy if you ask me as it was always likely he'd be on his way with us bringing another, better striker in this summer. However nobody has mentioned the release of Whitbread being a factor which perhaps showed a lack of ambition to Holty if we decided we couldn't meet his demands. I honestly believe Zak is quality and yesterday's news was a big surprise to me, and possibly it was to Holty as well and pissed him off? Zak changed his Twitter avatar from his one in a City shirt today, apparently he did cos Holty told him to. Thought it a bit odd at the time, now it seems really odd.
Really hard to say, isn't it? One of those where what we'd want we'd be unlikely to get. He's had one top flight season where he hasn't always been an automatic starter, and the fact he's 31. Set that against being second highest English scorer, and the fact there aren't too many like him around. Also perhaps an issue where normally a striker with little top flight experience would be younger, so a sell on would be negotiated. That wouldn't aply to Holt, so that could put the price up as there's no 'future bonus'. I should stress again though, I don't think he's going anywhere.
I've got a feeling today was the first day of transfer negotiations and we might have only offered him another year on his contract, with no pay increase so the agent just had a plan... no pay rise straight in with transfer request to scare us. Seems very odd as yesterday he replied to someone on twitter saying he really hopes lambert stays
Yes it's difficult to call, he seems to have momentum too obviously he has some excellent players providing him with the chances but for three seasons his been banging in the goals and from my memory he has never suffered a major goal drought which most forwards seem to have. Put's him in a different league to a lot of others.
