Let's take a look back at the season, what game do you think you enjoyed the most and why? I will have to go for the Newcastle game and the 5 - 0 demolition of a good side. Emmanuel Adebayor played a part in all four first-half goals, squaring for Benny to tap in, before crossing for Saha's opening volley. Then Ade touched off a Modric pass for Saha to make it 3-0 from 12 yards before Kranjcar side-footed in after Adebayor's effort was saved. Adebayor got his own goal in the end, volleying in the fifth after the break. It has to be the most relaxing game I watched and we had been waiting for someone to cop it for a while. 5 seems to be the magic number for Spurs in recent times. I hope he stays (Adebayor) we would miss him. What's yours? No, no, no! it's your round!
it has to be Liverpool, for year's we've been on the wrong end of a scoreline v them so it was nice to turn it around
The way we outplayed Liverpool (when they had 11) was amazing they were truly clutching at the air until they started to make contact with Spurs legs. They'd given up trying to get the ball.
It was nice to beat them but it was a poor performance by us in that game. Liverpool match for me followed by newcastle
The Newcastle game was excellent too Spurf, but I felt that they were depleted substantially in the centre of the park. Still a great performance and a fantastic result, especially the virtual absence of threat from their normally very dangerous strikers, but not our finest, for me. Still makes me laugh when Liverpool fans make excuses about only having 9 men. They should've had less! Filth.
that was a good game Spurf but it was game over after 18 minutes and it was one of them games where from the off we knew we were going to have a great day. ive always had a problem with us and metal..we lack it and i enjoyed alot of our games where we held onto a lead by adjusting tactics and becoming solid as oppose to free flowing....for personal reasons i loved the 4-0 hammering we handed out to Pool. i was glad to beat Everton at our place too as i felt as though we could slip up to them..that was quite satisfying. when we beat Norwich at their ground i felt as though we did our status justice as we are better than them but they are a good solid team. the 4-1 away win at Bolton was good too for the reason that i thought it was a typical game Spurs usually fluff but we took them to the cleaners.
Agreed PNP but I did ask what game you enjoyed the most not what you thought was the best performance. They could be different. Your girlfriend might have said yes during the Norwich for example.
I'm trying to be positive here PNP. But YES is usually a pretty good start, you can argue about the details later.
The 2-0 at Norwich was probably the best performance overall, although it has the hangover of Harry thinking the midfield of VDV-Sandro-Modric-Parker-Bale would work every time Lennon was unavailable, which affected us later in the season. However, the demolition of Liverpool was the most satisfying for a multitude of reasons, be it the way we played, some of the goals we scored, and dominating them so badly that their only tactic was to try and clatter us - which backfired horrible due to The Grand Wizard mouthing off about unfair refereeing against Liverpool(!) a few days before the game.
Game of the season was away to man city, 2-0 down and thinking here we go typical spurs but within a matter of minutes we claw back to 2-2, swarming all over city, balotelli gets sent off for stamping on parker and in the dying seconds bale bursts down the left, crosses for defoe who taps in to send the spurs fans going mental while the city fans start crying, tears down their eyes having nightmares about fergie and redknapp sharing a bottle of wine!
if only! It sums up our season that some of our best performances and football have come when playing away to city and stoke, games we should have won and games were outrageous decisions went against us. However i'm being negative here! ..game of the season would have to be the win against liverpool at home as after our dreadful start to the season we had to gain some pride back and the way we thumped the scousers was superb.
Not negative at all really just the sad truth, but that's football. Such decisions and 'results' make a mockery of that well known statement 'The table never lies' and it reminds me of the other one 'The camera never lies' Yeah right!
For me both Liverpool and Newcastle results were a bit out of running with the rest of the season. Pool were down to 9 men and we didn't match the Newcastle result after that. Winning at Bolton was good but I enjoyed coming back from 2-0 down at Man City to almost winning it. That match showed fighting qualities.
As usual I'm going to be different, as good as the results were v Toon and Pool, they were hampered as mentioned. The majority of results and performances against the other top 3 were..... So after the two matches I've already discounted, I've chose the Everton game, one of our bogey teams of late, so to totally outplay a side that have given many other teams problems was well overdue. Both Mersey clubs sent fromt Lane wit tails twixt legs! please log in to view this image
