Unfortunately the Euro's finish at the start of July - players will then go on holiday. Our tour of Asia and Africa then kicks on from mid July (i think we fly out on the 20th). The tour does not finish till the first week of August. We then start the season a couple of weeks later. This summer is going to be another disaster because we have failed to get business done. Everything should have been geared to this week. Scouts and Admin staff should have been working for the last 3-4 months to get things sorted out. Clubs should have been approached. Pre contracts drawn up. This week should have been about finalising signatures, but once again we have failed to sort anything out. The discussion with RVP should have been: "Robin - here's £130k a week and £5m. To give you some comfort we are finalising deals this week for the following players... and we are also releasing these players. So our new squad looks like this. I hope you agree it is a squad that will challenge for not just the title but the CL. We are serious about winning and we are spending £100m of our cash reserves to make it happen. Don't worry, we are still in a great financial position, with profits every year and still £100m in the bank. You are at the most secure and ambitous club in the country. Sign here..." Istead we get abject failure from Gazidis and Wenger and our back room staff - AGAIN
****ing right! Why do we always seem lethargic when it comes to strengthening the squad?? We are looking down the barrel of losing our best player and captain (AGAIN) and starting the season with a makeshift squad incapable of challenging (AGAIN). It's already starting to look like nothing has been learned from last summer. I put my faith in Wenger and the board all of last summer, right up until transfer deadline day, expecting to see some marquee signings and was seriously disappointed with what we got. I am not going to do it again. As far as I'm concerned Wenger and the board are guilty until proven innocent because we have seen it all before. Spend some ****ing money or **** right off!!!!
If everyone thinks rvp will go then they should stop making all these posts, i don't know what will happen but all i see are articles about will he stay or what his agent says, just wait till after the euros, lets focus on the players we might be bringing in, its very frustrating speculating because we don't know what happened at that meeting and arsenal are pretty good at keeping stuff under raps.
We don't need to buy big. so if we don't buy decent players it IS Wenger's fault. Podolski isn't a big buy but he is the right buy.
Couldn't have said it better. We didn't learn from last season and the result? An 8-2 drubbing that lead Arsenal to panic buy. If we don't start buying now, is it going to take another hammering a few games into the season for us to buy again? I don't blame RVP if he wants to leave. Why stay with a club with such little ambition? I doubt wages are a major issues with RVP, he just seems to want to play for a team that actually wants to win something.
If I am not mistaken the test in black bold and text in red bold contradict each other. On one hand you tell us to stop speculating, on the other hand you tell us to speculate on something else
Just read RVP banned from speaking to press whille in Holland, we'll see. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/18/arsenal-robin-van-persie-holland?newsfeed=true
So how do we MAKE players and clubs sign? Hold a gun to their head. It takes two to make a deal. If RVP is going to only sign for us if we sign as many players as Chelsea or Man City then he is going to leave, no question about it. You do know that?
You prove that you are serious about winning trophies. You dont try and con fans and top players with the dross put in the first team and litter the squad with. You dont persist with players who are not good enough - even when they prove they are not. You negotiate earlier - for example as soon as Nasri and Fab left, why not try and sign RVP on a three year deal - before LAST season. It has certainly come across as us trying to pay RVP as little as possible for as long as possible. You dont take you best player off in an important game and have the whole world watch as your captain looks at you as if you an idiot. You dont play players out of position over and over again. You set your team up so they dont get annihiliated in games where you are the underdog. You don't misjudge situations and make yourself look an idiot when you are caught out - as in the stupid saga with Nasri and Fabregas 'staying' You dont make huge profits each year and invest a net of NOTHING in the football team whilst public accounts show hundreds of millions in the bank. Wenger is trying to fix a problem of his own making. His credibility is gone completely. Why should RVP believe a word he is saying. The fact it looks like he will leave as Fab did, whilst saying what a lovely guy Arsene is tells you a lot. They like him but they dont believe in him.
Yup spot on. Wenger is a procrastinator that's fine and it used to work well for us when we had Dein helping to push things along. The board and management these days seems clueless and completely lacking in ambition. It's getting to the ridiculous situation that i almost hope for a takeover. Where the **** is the ambition?
Thank you for typing that. I'm so tired of repeating myself. Especially not trying to commit RVP to a longer deal as soon as Fab and Nas left. RVP already ended the 2010/2011 well, so it made no sense to let his contract run down to one last year. Now we're in a ****ed up predicament if he doesn't renew his deal. Keep him at Arsenal unwillingly and we'll have an unhappy player, and one who's free to go at the end of next season or sell him now for less than we could've had we extended his contract at the start of the season.
Van Persie has been spotted at a hotel near Manchester Airport talking to Sir Alex. RVP is heading to Old Trafford. DONE AND DUSTED
Didn't wenger say Arteta isn't arsenal material before buying him. How can we take wengers word for granted? Also I must add I'm in favour of selling Rvp should we not reach an agreement on the basis that all the money is reinvested.
I dont remember Wenger saying that about Arteta tbh. As for RVP - we do need to sell him and act quickly now. We just cant be in a situation where we start the season with an unsettled squad again. Watching Nasri play for Arsenal against Liverpool KNOWING he was going the following week was one of the most ridiculous things I have seen happen at the Emirates.
This post is dumber than a bag of bolts and just shows how valuable thick fans think their worthless opinions are! Are you "Serious" that you don't think that all that sweat that the players put out on the field and the long hours that the coaching staff put in for the team doesn't show that they are serious. I will guarantee that they are 1000 times more serious about winning a trophy than you are. If you actually put some effort into supporting the team then I would be more inclined to believe you were serious about winning. Pissing and moaning about things not going your way, all the time, just makes you a child, it doesn't make you serious. Nobody is conning you. What the hell are you on about! There is no deception. Why would anyone make any effort to deceive you? Why on earth would you merit that effort? Don't even start with your group's evaluation on players and how it is obvious. One of you even insists he plays non-league football with loads of players better than Song. Your evaluation of players is highly suspect, and you are, at best, totally unqualified to know who is capable of playing in the premiership and who is not. We have negotiated early, in fact we hardly stop negotiating. As always you play stupid, in order to deceive. I can't believe you don't understand the destinction of negotiating and actually closing a deal. Arsenal FC have no ability to force a deal closed. Unless of couse you want them to sell Van Persie without trying to keep him? Then we can get the deal closed early, would that make you happy? I'm sorry, please dont tell me that you are so monumentally misguided, that you think Ox is our best player. Please, please don't tell me that I am wasting my time debating issiues with someone with so little grasp on reality! From your posts, I doubt whether you have any understanding of our system, to make a judgement on any positions the players may or may not have been playing. I don't believe that you are so arrogant that you believe that you know more about setting a team up so that they are not anihilated, than Wenger or Pat Rice. Really ****ing unbelievable. I can't comment on Fabregas and Nasri except by saying that Wenger has no control over Nasri or Fabreagas, both could have given Wenger their personal; guarentee and sworn on their mother's lives that they would stay and then changed their minds. The board could have done the same over allowing Nasri to play out his contract and then changed theirs. You have no clue what happenned. Again, your high opinion of yourself is astonishing. You think you are all knowing and all seeing. Arsenal FC's profit each year pays less than 2 months of the salary difference between Man City and ourselves. It is not significant. If RVP is stupid enough to think like you, then **** him. There is absolutely nothing Wenger can do to keep him. How the heck is he supposed to pay RVP 250K a year when everyone else is on 75K? How many superstars can he sign. Do you honestly think that Yann M'Villa is a superstar, Vertonghen, anyone we can buy for <20M? Stop bigging up these players! Good prospects yes, but superstars? Honestly, this nonsense has to stop! You spout thios blithering rubbish over and over again and it is such a load of bollocks. Anyone with a brain can see it. Try and locate yours! When you grow up and get into the real world you have to put the fantasy life where you are a super-hero behind you. You have to deal with real-life problems and often there is no happy ending. Just because people don't win, doesn't make them evil. It isn't a comic book world. Hate to burst your bubble kid.
Wow - most of your posts are like the rantings of a delusional mad man, but this one takes the gold medal
But no need to worry because silent Stan is such an honourable businessman, he deserves to be trusted with the stewardship over the ordinary fan's cash that lies in Arsenal's bank account. You see our Stan is such a clean cut, moral, straight up kind of guy...much better than those criminals who are spending their own money and helping City et al win the league...so we should all love Stan and sneer at those third world cess pit dwellers winning the league.
