http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11715/7763787/McCormack-future-in-doubt Leeds striker Ross McCormack is poised to reject a new contract offer from the club, hastening his exit from Elland Road.
Not really sure tbh. Apparently a bit of a piss head so not sure Malky would make a move for him. He would help with his goals along side another decent front man (not Miller). Now Snodgrass would be a good buy methinks.
Instead of Miller yes, as well as Miller definitely no. Agree with Taff, I would bite their hand off for Snodgrass.
It was said about Earnie, "Never go back". I couldn't see McCormack returning to us. He is angling for a move to a lower Prem club, maybe as a squad player, but at least an opportunity to play on the big stage. Mind you, it didn't do Bothroyd any good. Also, I think Papa Smurf is trying to reduce wages so maybe on a worse deal at Leeds. Snodgrass will command £6 to 8 mill. Too much for us although I'd love to see him on the right for us.
hell no. decent player at this level with a very inflated view of himself (probably driven into him by his agent). he treats clubs like stepping stones end of. he may or may not get a move with more money but he'll probably finish his career with 10 clubs under his belt....
Clingo he could upset the dressing room but at the same time he could score 35 goals and send us to the promised land these are gambles I think Malcky has to take
He's been neither a pisshead nor a sulk in his time at Leeds. Or at least if he has been, it's not affected his performance on the pitch, which has been excellent.
Thanks for the input Jerel, if he's laying off the booze and grown up a bit then he'd be worth it but I suspect we wouldn't meet his wage demands.
playing for a big contract at his next stepping stone i think. doesnt really fit in with our tactics and we wont be spending £2-3m on a player in the last year of his deal....
A good point sir. but would he get the chance to score the goals if he was part of a discontented squad? The other thing is that he has previous with us and showed little respect for the club and couldn't wait to get away, and while I agree that he's not shown the same attitude at Leeds, a return to Cardiff would have every chance of bringing out the worst in him again. For me, these are not the gambles we should be taking. I'd rather be gambling less money on a lower league striker who we can mould into the ethos of the club. I don't think Rosco will settle until he gets a season in the top flight.
clingo, its a good point but I also look at certain squad players who were here at the same time... their ego's, attitudes (on and off the pitch) and external activities etc are well documented. I'm not saying RM is/was an angel or was influenced in any way by others but a better balanced, ego free squad of players, which we have at present, could have the opposite affect to the point highlighted. He's a good player and did ok for Leeds the few times I saw him last year... but Earnie + Koumas proved the 'never go back theory' for me but RM is younger and its a different scenario so I'm in two minds.
