Yes it is, and? I wasn't saying we were prolific I was saying we weren't defensive, which is proven by being there or thereabouts the team with most shots in the league. Our conversion rate is crap, but that wasn't the point I was making

I see that SSN are reporting that Brendan Rodgers has given Liverpool a knock back. " not the right move for his career" apparently.

Who;d want to go from a club where the fans pretend they don't speak English, to a club where the fans pretend they're not English?

I don't think the stats of shots on target, or goals scored is a reflection of excitement and attacking intent.

When Chelsea won the league with Ancelotti, they scored bucket loads, 6's and 7's, but were still awfull to watch.

I havn't really enjoyed Liverpool week in week out since you had Owen though (fa cup and Champs league finals aside)

Rodgers seemed open to an approach from us, so I'm a little surprised that he's knocked Liverpool back.
Given that he also turned down talk of a move to Chelsea, perhaps he's just got his head screwed on right?

I think that Ian Ayre's statement sums up a lot of what's wrong with the thinking at Liverpool.
History is just garnish to a lot of current players and managers.
If they have the opportunity to join City, with a rich owner, massive spending power and a powerful squad or Liverpool, with a great history, then they'll join City.

If they want to get back on track and become competitive again, then they need to look to the future and focus less on the past.
Bring through more of the youth players that have performed so well for them, make some sensible, astute signings and get people thinking positively about the present team.
