It could have been us! But is there anyone you would take of this list? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18091522 Fifteen players have left Bolton Wanderers following their relegation from the Premier League, while Kevin Davies has signed a new one-year deal. The striker and defender Sam Ricketts, who has agreed a two-year deal, are the only players to commit to the club. Negotiations with Jussi Jaaskelainen and Zat Knight are ongoing. Ricardo Gardner, Gretar Steinsson and Ivan Klasnic are among those released, while Nigel Reo-Coker has activated a release clause in his contract. Paul Robinson, Sean Davis, Robbie Blake, Mark Connolly, Tope Obadeyi, Rhys Bennett, Dino Fazlic and Tom Eckersley have also not been offered new deals. Meanwhile, Tuncay, Ryo Miyachi and Dedryck Boyata have all returned to their parent clubs after reaching the end of their loan spells at the Reebok Stadium.
Unbelievable, that's a lot of their team gone up in smoke. Bad times ahead for them unless they can pull a half-decent team together very quickly indeed.
None of the players mentioned are good enough for ' New Rangers! ' Sorry for sounding slightly pompous, but those days are over my friends.
We will. Plenty of dross will be finally released. Thank you Mr Paladini, we'd never be where we are now without handing long and lucrative contracts to Agyemang and Vine.
What, Botlon Wadnerers? Sadly, I can easily see them now rapidly sinking without trace into the lower leagues.
Won't happen, they are £100m in debt. Agree, no one on this list interests me, apart from the Japanese lad who was on loan to them anyway.
They're getting on for £100 million in debt, been living beyond their means just to stay up and now their bubble has burst. A couple of years ago Phil Gartside advocated making the PL a 'closed shop' with no relegation solely for this reason. I'll bet he's not of the same opinion now. AND we gave them three additional points thanks to Pob Bollock...
how can you be in the Prem that long and have £100m debt? surly they should have sorted it. just glad we never had the same fate.
It's quite a sad state of affairs when a club is £100m in debt despite never really spending huge money and staying in the top league for 11 years.
May well depend on how they financed their stadium I guess. And the fact that they couldn't fill it. Certainly don't remember any big transfers in or out of Bolton, Cahill aside.
I hope you are right but I doubt it. I would be amazed if we did not end up with one or two of those. The 'project' is still in its early days and we may still struggle to attract the bigger names who will not relish playing in front of 15000 for many games.
Paul Robinson is about 35 and on loan at Leeds at the end of last season as he could not get in the bolton team. Our squad age is older than Chelseas , we need some young blood.
