    lol <applause>

They will beat Hibs though. :) Don't know what my dad would make of the final though. He was a former Hibs player & we used to argue over the 'capital rivalry'. Funnily, the last time Hearts made the final, they played Gretna - another of the teams dad played for.

Gretna - now there is a sad tale, good example that you can't buy fame and keep it.

What position did your Dad play BB?

Right Half - it was a long time ago.;)

He always claimed that, as a teenager, he also played for another now defunct club - St. Bernard's - but I've never been able to confirm that. He said that the height of his career was a Scottish cup semi-final appearance for them in 1938 - five years before they went out of existence. Maybe one day I'll find a programme for that match....

There may be a chance of a programme BB as they played the semi three times it seems.

In 1938 they (St Bernard's) reached the Scottish Cup semi finals, losing to eventual winners East Fife after two replays before a crowd of 35 264 at Hearts' Tynecastle Park - the largest ever attendance to watch a St Bernard's match.

Windies batting has surprised me a lot of grit and determination at tea 146-4 I think is honours even , I hope the english batsmen show a similar resolve ! Could have been better for the windies but for a comical run out.

I am not interested in the test series tbh. I am looking forward to the ODI and T20 matches. If Chris Gayle is allowed back for WI we will be in for a treat. He has 50!! 6's in 14 matches in the DLF IPL and this is against some of the top top bowlers!! He is in top top form and has a strike rate of 155 per innings and has scored over 677 runs in this season of 14 matches. He is currently on ITV 4 playing for Royal Challengers Bangalor and is on 121 n/o with RCB on 202-1. He is just class!!!

190 -6 Really has been a very good struggle ,chanderpaul worlds No 1 batsman being his usual limpet like self , England having to attack the other end , the tactical tussle is proving to be enthralling viewing! Samuels was doing so well then lost concentration for an instant and paid the price.
Broad Bresnan Swann and anderson having to work very hard.
I do like Test cricket especially when I have time off to watch it :)

5 players been banned in IPL for match fixing ,crowds down and too much money has corrrupted what was a good idea! players only go there now when they are not good enough for first class cricket or are at the end of their career and are deservedly cashing in!
As for Gayle he is a bad influence in the Windies dressing room ,he is a billy big boots , the young team they are building dont need the distraction or disruption! They have some very good youngsters and will be a force again in a couple of years

Well judging by Gayle Force's performance he is desperate to prove himself and get back into the national squad. He inspired RCB to a tournament record 215/1 with an innings of 128 off 62 balls. I would take a hard hat if i were you. Unfortunately if he is this good and we are as bad as we traditionally we are then there is no way we will win.

243-9 I think thats reasonable for the windies young team as they are rebuilding , were on a bowler friendly track against a very good attack! England batsmen will need to apply themselves tomorrow Barath and chanderpaul proved that you can score on this wicket but its not going to be easy if the windies attack are accurate! They cant afford to bowl a 4 ball an over ,create pressure and englands batsmen have been fragile over the winter.

I love cricket especially Test Cricket and also try to get to Lords at least once a year - Got tickets fro Friday 17th August this year to see Eng v SA, I know its only the second day but the weekend was sold out. What a way to spend a day (hopefully sunny) watching the game with a pint in your hand (mind you that adds up to several pints in the course of the day making the game better as the day goes on)

Morning all from a bright West West London - this is now an official world record, I have gone into the office of a Friday for 6 successive weeks! Still, at the moment the day looks very quiet, so will slip out early for a few sneaky beers!

Nervy day - daughter has an interview for a 1 year placement at a very large Sports TV company this morning
